Through wonderful people I have met in the Steemit community, I have found a new group named, SteemUSA.

I read @mariannewest's entry for a contest, the leaders of SteemUSA are holding, and it made me want to join too!

I am surprised it took me 3 days to find the original SteemUSA post.

Here is a brief description of the SteemUSA contest:

Write a post showing your interest to join SteemUSA, and what you would like to see come out of such a community.

Prizes:

1st Place: 1000 SP Delegation (1 month)
2nd Place: 400 SP Delegation (1 month)
3rd Place: 200 SP Delegation (1 month)

Contest begins now and ends on Sunday, November 19th, 2017.

I have an interest to join SteemUSA because I’m an American, and a proud deplorable. (I love the SteemUSA logo!) I like that Steemit opens communication around the globe, but I also think Americans are a different breed.

It will be nice to communicate in a group, with those whose needs, and concerns are similar; such as the country's laws, and how much government is involved in our everyday lives.

I think that this group is a good idea, because the Steemit platform is not censored by the media, or any form of government; including our own. It can be an underground system, in which we can share information; without restriction.

I think that this group will allow American users; especially new users, the freedom to speak, and then help those within their communities. There will be people from different parts of America in a main group, but then as members break apart into smaller groups, relationships will be built. Real-life problems can be solved locally.

This may also be a nice place to form bands, share art, and writing that can impact, and change our regional ways of thinking. Other social medias are filled with gossip, and bickering. I can see SteemUSA as a genuine think tank, birthing new ideas, and inventions for our country.

This will also boost our economic power. As American Steemit users gain power through support, and recognition, and as more Americans use the Steem currency, it will become a normal option to pay for our daily items using Steem. I do hope this makes it easier to purchase things online. This will also result in a bigger, and stronger American presence on Steemit; which means more parties, because Americans like to party.

We can share music, movies, games, and other forms of entertainment popular to the United States, and make jokes, people from other counties may not understand.

We can give, and receive notifications about weather concerns, updates, or emergencies…

There is no telling what a group like SteemUSA could do on the Steemit platform, and I am excited to be a part of this new project.

With my Steem delegation, I will be upvoting the heck out of everyone’s posts. I don’t have much Steem Power as a new user, so this gift would encourage me to read more stories, and welcome more new users.

Most of all I want to welcome SteemUSA to the Steemit platform, and wish them the best in their new endeavor. This is a great idea, and a massive undertaking. I will help in any way I can.
