The Angels host the Blue Jays tonight

The Los Angeles Angels host the Toronto Blue Jays tonight in the final game of the day in MLB American League action. First pitch is scheduled for 8:07pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on National Television on Fox Sports West. It will take place at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. The Angels are favored at -134 and the over/under is 8.5 runs. The weather is going to be warm with a slight breeze. The Angles have won the first two games of this four game series.

It has been a nice turn around for the Los Angeles Angels who have won 3 games in a row after dropping 7 of 8. They are coming off of a 2-1 win on Friday night in which pitcher Andrew Heaney was lights out, keeping the Blue Jays scoreless until the 7th inning. Offensively, Albert Pujols and Luis Valbuena each had an RBI in the 1st inning and that would be all that they needed to get the win.

Tonight, the Angels will send Jaime Barria to the mound to try and keep the momentum going. Barria is 5-3 on the year with an ERA of 3.57. His WHIP is outstanding at 1.17 and he has only allowed 10 walks this season.

The Toronto Blue Jays have had a disappointing season thus far but there is still plenty of season left to get things turned. It will not be easy though as they sit in fourth place in the AL East, which is one of the best divisions in the MLB. The Yankees and Red Sox are 16 games ahead of the Blue Jays.

Marcus Stroman will have the difficult task of pitching against the red hot Angels tonight. Stroman is having his worst season ever and is 0-5 with the worst starting pitching ERA in the league at 7.71. His WHIP is also awful at 1.71. If he has another bad outing tonight, it may be his last in a Blue Jays uniform.

All signs point in the Los Angeles Angels direction for tonight’s game. I don’t see how the Blue Jays aren’t much bigger under dogs so that has me wondering, what do the experts in Las Vegas know that the betting public don’t? We will have to wait and find out.
