Milwaukee Brewers Sweep the D-Backs with 9-2 Win

The Brewers rained 9 runs over the D-Backs in the final game of a three game series. Milwaukee got the best of Arizona for the fifth time in the past 9 days, falling only once in a nail biting game that ended 1-2 in the Backs’ favor. The Brew Crew’s not only sitting atop of the NL Central, but the entire NL conference, possessing a superb 31-19 record. Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks have made a complete U-Turn, and not in a way they desired. Zona’ now sits .5 games behind the Rockies in the extremely tight NL West.

Left-handed pitcher Brent Suter gained his fourth win of the season, bringing his record one game above .500. Suter threw 88 pitches through 5.2 innings, striking out 6 for the second straight game. Suter gave up two second inning blasts to power-house Goldschmit, and catcher John Murphy. Thereafter, he only allowed two D-Backs to get base hits. Bryan will look to keep his record above .500 as they play host to the Cardinals next Monday.

Godley got the starting nod for the Backs’ and pitched his worst performance of the year. He couldn’t even make it out of the fourth inning, pitching only 3.1 innings and 8 runs crossed the plates during his time on the mound. The troubles didn’t end with his allowed run total, as he gave up 6 walks and 7 hits. Godley’s ERA climbed up to 4.53, and his record fell to equalization at 4. He will look to redeem himself when he faces the most inferior NL team, the Reds.

Aguilar drove led the team in RBI’s, driving in 3 total on two singles. Travis Shaw hit his fourth homer in his past 10 games, bringing Yelich and Aguilar around the bases. Shortstop Salidino inches closer to his career high for HR’s in a season (8) with his third of the year, and each of the three have came in his past 7 games.
