People look forward to see the top-notch prospects during their rookie seasons. They want to see what the rookies can bring to their team and how will they impact the league. Some top prospects exceed expectations and dominate early in their careers and some do not turn into a player people expect them to be. A lot of young players show their outstanding talents since day 1 in the league and they don't slow down there. Some rookies excel in a few games, but can not do it consistently. Now, we are going to show you some of the historic rookie debuts in the history of the NBA.

David Robinson

In his NBA debut, David “The Admiral” Robinson showed the world that he was prone to be a major force in the NBA for a very long time, as he recorded a double-double with 23 points and 17 rebounds against the Los Angeles Lakers. He was the first overall pick in the 1989 draft and proved that he deserved it. He played like he wasn't a rookie in his first season. He played great basketball against the league’s top big men and easily won rookie of the year averaging 24.3 points, 12 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per game.

Brandon Jennings

Jennings skipped college to play overseas before entering the Association. When he entered the NBA, he showed his talent and got the fans attention after almost recording a triple-double in his debut. He scored 17 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 9 assists against the warriors. He was the 10th overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2009. He averaged 15.5 points and 5.7 assists in his rookie season, making the All-Rookie team.

LeBron James

Straight from high school, the kid from Akron Ohio was the first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 NBA draft. Early in his career, LeBron James was keen to strive for greatness as he showed the world that he was going to make a case for being the greatest player of all time. He was the most famous young athlete at the time and he didn’t disappoint anybody. Up until now, he has been outstanding and dominates the game. In his debut, King James recorded 25 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, and 4 steals against the Sacramento Kings. He won Rookie of the Year averaging 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game against Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade rookie seasons.

Michael Carter-Williams

The 11th overall pick for the Philadelphia 76ers was Michael Carter-Williams, and he had a terrific debut against LeBron James and the Miami Heat when he almost earned a rare quadruple-double after recording 22 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds and 9 steals. He won the Rookie of the Year award that season averaging 16.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.9 steals per contest. But his brilliance did not last very long. His lack of the ability to shoot and inconsistency brought his career to a down fall. He is also injury prone and that’s also a major factor that ruined his career. This season he is only averaging 4.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game for the Charlotte Hornets.
