Boston Eagerly Await Game 6, a Win Puts Them in the Finals

On Wednesday night, rookie Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics to a 96-83 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Finals matchup. Boston is now one win away from advancing to the NBA finals, once again, and they will face the winner of the matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Jayson Tatum was spectacular all night long on both ends of the court. He was playing similar to a veteran with no signs of slowing down and didn't look nervous. He said in the postgame press conference that he enjoys these type of games, the ones against the best player on the planet. Tatum finished the game with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks. All-star center AL Horford finished with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jaylen Brown also had a great game recording 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block. Marcus Morris and Marcus Smart each scored 13 points and both made three 3-pointers. Terry Rozier didn’t shot well scoring only 8 points with 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in 3 for 15 shooting from the field and 1 for 7 from the three point line. Aaron Baynes added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.

The Cavs falls again after a very bad shooting night by the team. LeBron James and Kevin Love are the only Cleveland players who scored in double-figures. JR Smith, Kyle Korver and George Hill couldn’t find their sweet shooting touch all game long. They had a lot of open looks and had the chance to cut the deficit and keep the game close but their shots are not falling. LeBron finished the game off with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal while Kevin Love had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Larry Nance Jr. was outstanding in defense as he posted 6 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. He made a huge impact defensively ever since he played more minutes for the Cavaliers. Jeff Green was okay finishing with 8 points and 5 rebounds on 3 for 4 shooting from the field while Jordan Clarkson also had 8 points including 2 triples. Kyle Korver scored only 7 points with 2 three-pointers.

LeBron James looked very tired at some points in the game when he was seen having a deep breath, not sprinting the floor or not getting the ball in offense and wiping his face with a towel. People reacted very much with these scenes and make some issues about it. Coach Ty Lue was also asked if James is tired and he responded and said he was. But in the postgame press conference, James said that he’s fine, no excuses, he said that they lost because of turnovers, their careless turnovers and they just can’t keep their shots going. He also said that they have many opportunities to keep the game close but they just keep missing open shots. He also added that they played well defensively and they just have to keep playing to that level defensively and try to be better in offense for the next game. LeBron is now on the verge of elimination and his finals appearance streak is at stake. The Boston Celtics are perfect at home this postseason. How will LeBron and the Cavs respond to this loss? We will see next game. Game 6 is on Friday night in Cleveland.
