Day 14 of the 2018 Winter Olympics is in the books and we are back with another medal count update. There were several events that gave out medals on the 14th day of action. Norway’s medal domination continues as they are now up to 37 total medals including 13 Golds. Canada jumps up to the second spot with 27 total medals including 10 Golds. Germany drops to third with 26 total medals but remains tied for first in the Gold count with 13. The United States remains in fourth place with 21 total medals.

One of the stars of day 14 was a Russian figure skater, but not the one you would guess. Fifteen year old Alina Zagitova claims the Gold medal in Women’s Single Figure Skating. She put on a flawless performance and has quickly become a fan favorite of the 2018 Winter Olympics. At her young age, she is far from done in this sport and this may only be the beginning.

Zagitova’s teammate, Evgenia Medvedeva was the heavy favorite to win Gold in the event but came up just short. The 18 year old Figure Skating super star performed incredibly but was just out done by Zagitova’s perfect performance. Medvedeva should hold her head up high as she got the Silver medal and did so with grace.

Day 15 will be another opportunity for new stars and heroes to be crowned. There will several medals handed out today and some bright new faces to reach the podium. The athletes are running out of time though to win their medals as the close of the Games are rapidly approaching this weekend. We will be back later with another Olympic Medal Count Update and highlight some of the stars of Day 15.
