Let me tell you how today's Pirate treasure unfolded!!!!๐
Today was shopping day.....shopping with the Mrs. ๐
We are always busy, but occasionally we check out Goodwill and silvertop looks for treasure.....Silver treasure!!!
One time we found a Sterling tea strainer spoon,and another time a gravy boat!
So today when I turned to the Mrs and said ....Lets check out Goodwill today....
I had no idea how it would turn out!!!
See there on the second shelf that bowl.......No you wont see anything, because Silvertop is clutching that Silver bowl tight against his chest!!!
Then I heard this couple approach from behind, and the lady said excuse me and reached in front of Silvertop for a shiny bowl.......
Still holding tight to the bowl, I heard the man say I think it's gone someone got it!

This is Alvin Sterling S262 Monogramed with ...
" LILA from Community League 1959-1960 "
$6.99 for this bowl and I looked it up online and it contains 10.8 Ozt. of Silver!
Silvertop was minutes away from another Pirate grabbing his treasure!!!!๐ณ

OH MY goodness!!! No one can TOP this, @silvertop!!! What a great find! I always have to go to San Francisco or Napa Valley to nice pre-owned silver serve/tablewares!!! That is one AMAZING find! For sure that was an award for something, and it is great that it is dated. What is the maker's mark on that one?

I was shocked to find this Too....
I figure it was probably made about 1959, because of the monogram.
ALVAN S262 Sterling is the only other info on this bowl....
I have other Sterling that has a hallmark that you can trace, but this isn't.....But still Silver Booty!!

I searched on my iPhone in the Goodwill store and found the same.
Thats where I found the 10.8 Ozt. Silver. I haven't put it on the scale yet...
I told the Mrs we need a half gallon of ice cream to eat from this Silver bowl and celebrate!!!๐
