A Little Pocket Change
A little pocket change that you are not likely to see on a regular basis. First off they are fifty cent pieces. Which the USA hasn't used in decades. Next up of course they are made up of my favorite shiney metal.
I actually had none in the stack so I grabbed the different styles.
First up is the oldest one of grabbed. The standing liberty is a beautiful design. I was glad to find it in a half dollar.
The eagle still looks good even though it's certainly seem some ware.
Next up a 54 Franklin.
The liberty bell looks beautiful in silver.
Lastly the youngest coin I grabbed a 64 Kennedy!
Now since it is the youngest I wasn't surprised it was in the best condition out of the group.
So which half dollar do you like the best?
I love each of the designs of the Half Dollar coins equally. I find that the Kennedy Half Dollars are often in perfect condition, not a scratch or blemish, completely uncirculated and I find them impossible to resist.
This one Happens to be Worth $25,000... My Choice of Course...
It has toned beautifully but why so much?
Collectors pay Dearly for certain Dates and Mint Marks, along with the Toning you mentioned and the Grade of the Coin... The above Half Dollar is a 1938-D...
Lovely Jubbley coins my luver!
I dug up a 1936 Silver Sixpence yesterday:
Wow what a sweet find!
Cheers my luver!
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
I have a bunch of the 1964 halves but none of the others.
A small typo: "Lastly the youngest coin I grabbed a 64 Jefferson." It is a 64 Kennedy.
I love junk silver and the Walking Liberty is my favourite among the $.50.
Oppps you are most certainly right. Thanks and good gooood catch.
