Girls Shall Grow, a non governmental organisation headquartered in Obuasi has organised a capacity building program aimed at building the self esteem of young girls in Obuasi and it's environs. The event brought together almost 200 girls and with 8 facilitators. There were speech delivery session and a group session where the girls were divided into groups to enable them have their questions answered easily.

Jannette Adu Poku, an Insurance expert and the main speaker for the event outlined some of the things that could help the young girls build confidence which included dressing and personal hygiene.
The Executive Director of Girls Shall Grow, Mrs Louisa Amoah, spoke to Wundef.com after the event.

“These girls we are seeing today shall grow to become women tomorrow and therefore we must help train them to become the women we wish them to become”, she said.
She also sought for sponsorship to extent the program to other districts and regions.
“Programs of this nature should not be limited to Obuasi alone. We want to have similar sessions in four other districts before the year comes to an end and that requires sponsorship from individuals, donor organisations and corporate bodies. We will also welcome partnerships with other groups willing to partner with us”, Mrs Louisa Amoah added.
The event took place at Tutuka in Obuasi.

The good thing is that there are people interested in these issues, it would be great if there are other organizations that can help in various issues in this way, there are so many things to do to help children and young people, congratulations for this
