Chinese Social Network WeChat Blocked the Channel of Bitmain and Other Cryptocurrency Companies — Coinzdaily

According to official data published on September 10, the social network WeChat, launched by Tencent, blocked the channel of the Bitmain crypto-company, connected with Bitcoin mining. It is worth noting that other Bitmain channels on the WeChat platform are still active.

The company’s official channel dedicated to the sale of Bitcoin mining equipment now does not display any content. Instead of the content contained earlier on the page, users see a notice of violation of the rules for using the platform. The notification informs:

“Following users’ complaints, [WeChat] has reviewed and discovered that this account — without having acquired authorized credentials or licenses — has been publishing and distributing information of relevant businesses it is involved in.”

A representative of Bitmain confirmed that the “antminer” channel on WeChat was indeed blocked, but the company account and other Bitmain channels are still active.

It’s worth noting that WeChat is aimed at a lot of channels related to the cryptocurrency and Blockchain. Many such channels display a message about the violation of rules and the closure of the channel, which is associated with the company’s updated policy.

WeChat reportedly blocked the accounts of Kuangresearch, Dianbichengjin, Fcoin Community and Delphy, accusing the company of violating established rules, the distribution of questionable advertisements, inaccurate content relating to the cryptocurrency and ICO.

As the data show, the main focus was on accounts that belong to companies, and not to individual users.
