Making Family, Making Memories: December Call
December is a time often fraught with challenges of place, home and community. Holiday season has begun. I've watched friends' faces fall or light up as they consider Winter gathering plans. What are your plans?
Here at Heart and Humanity we recognize that not all families look the same. On a personal note, over the last year I have discovered a family beyond my biology. It consists of the people who have shown up consistently and with love, the people I show up for--those of us who actively choose each other. Adoption, friendship, immigration, coming out, dating, mentoring and more; all change the landscape of the family.
Tell us about the families you've made, and the memories that go with them.
We want your stories as essays poems, or even fiction. Share with our readers your unique family dynamics and favorite memories.
We will accept 10-12 paid pieces per month; to be eligible, December submission must be received at [email protected] by November 15th.
