One sign of the end of a month is the emergence of a new moon child. We are now at the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. So we need to know together how the final determination of the month of Ramadan in 2018.

If at the time of the Prophet, the companions and tabi'in in determining the beginning and end of the month of Ramadan they use the system Rukyatul Bil Fi'il (see with the eyes of the head) or by way of istikmal (fulfilling the month of Sha'ban and Ramadhan to be 30) But along with the times the ulamas and mujtahid in determining the beginning and end of the month of Ramadan have their own ways. There are three kinds of ways that scholars do in setting the beginning and the end of the month of Ramadan.

Determination with the Wujudul Hilal System

In this method, the beginning and the end of the month of Ramadan is determined based on the calculation of reckoning with the condition that the position of the new moon is above the horizon even though the degree of elevation is. Although less than 0.5 degrees, and although the moon cannot be seen with the eyes of the head. In this concept the priority is the existence of the child of the moon (hilal).

Determination with the Rukyat Imaging System

This method uses a calculation system or reckoning, with the condition that the moon is at an altitude that may be rukyatkan. In general, those who argue like this stipulate that the moon which is imakan in rukyat is at least in a two degree position. Therefore, if the position of the new moon is less than two degrees it cannot be determined as the beginning of the month of Ramadan or Shawwal.

Determination with the Rukyat Bil Fi'il System

This method is based on seeing a crescent. Whereas reckoning only serves as a guide in conducting rukyat this method. However, not every result of this method can be accepted. Syahadah or rukyatul bil fi'il which can be accepted is when the moon is above the horizon. If the position of the moon under the horizon, the result of this method is rejected.

From this explanation, there are differences between the three methods. There are only those who only use the rukyat method and also the tone that combines between the Rukyat system and the Hisab System. These differences then cause a lot of problems. However, we can refer to one of the mujtahida who carried out the activity.

Basic Understanding

Groups that use the rukyat system argue that; the beginning and the end of Ramadan must be established on the basis of the results of rukyat (seeing with the eyes of the head), while the groups that use reckoning argue that reckoning must be used as a reference in determining the beginning and end of Ramadan. This opinion is based on the arguments contained in the Qur'an.

Current technological advances have developed so rapidly, so to know certain times and circumstances both what has happened and what will happen can be estimated more precisely and easily. Supported by sophisticated tools, reckoning is the most accurate to determine the beginning and end of the month of Ramadan.

Rasulullah SAW was very careful in determining the month of Ramadan compared to other months. Then he fasted because he saw the new moon of Ramadan, so if the moon of Ramadan did not appear to be covered by clouds, then he calculated the length of the month of sya'ban 30 days (HR. Abu Dawud).

Salah satu tanda berakhirnya masa dalam satu bulan adalah munculnya anak bulan baru. Saat ini kita sudah berada di akhir dari pada Bulan Suci Ramadhan. Maka perlu kita ketahui bersama bagaiamana penetapan akhir dari Bulan Ramadhan di tahun 2018 ini.

Jika pada masa Rasulullah, para sahabat dan tabi’in dalam menentukan awal dan akhir dari bulan Ramadhan mereka menggunakan system Rukyatul Bil Fi’il (melihat dengan mata kepala) ataupun dengan cara istikmal (menggenapkan bulan Sya’ban dan Ramadhan menjadi 30). Namun seiring perkembangan zaman para ulama dan mujtahid dalam menentukan awal dan akhir dari bulan Ramadhan memiliki cara mereka masing-masing. Ada tiga macam cara yang di lakukan ulama dalam menetapkan awal dan alkhir dari bulan Ramadhan.

Penetapan Dengan Sistem Wujudul Hilal

Dalam metode ini, awal dan akhir dari bulan Ramadhan ditetapkan berdasarkan perhitungan hisab dengan syarat posisi hilal berada di atas ufuk meskipun berapun derajat ketinggiannya. Walaupun kurang dari 0,5 derajat, dan walaupun hilal tidak dapat dilihat dengan mata kepala. Dalam konsep ini yang diutamakan adalah adanya wujud dari pada anak bulan (hilal).

Penetapan Dengan Sistem Imkanur Rukyat

Metode ini menggunakan system perhitungan atau hisab, dengan syarat bahwa hilal berada pada ketinggian yang mungkin di rukyatkan. Pada umumnya, mereka yang berpendapat seperti ini menetapkan bahwa hilal yang imkan di rukyat minimal berada pada posisi dua derajat. Oleh karena itu, jikalau posisi hilal kurang dari dua derajat tidak dapat ditetapkan sebagai awal dari pada bulan Ramadhan ataupun bulan Syawal.

Penetapan Dengan Sistem Rukyat Bil Fi’il

Metode ini didasarkan pada melihat bulan sabit. Sedangkan hisab hanya berfungsi sebagai panduan dalam melakukan rukyat metode ini. Meskipun demikian, tidak setiap hasil metode ini dapat diterima. Syahadah atau rukyatul bil fi’il yang bisa diterima adalah apabila hilal berada di atas ufuk. Apabila posisi hilal di bawah ufuk, maka hasil dari metode ini di tolak.

Dari penjelasan tersebut, maka terdapat perbedaan di antara ketiga metode tersebut. Ada yang hanya menggunakan metode rukyat saja da nada pula yang menggabungkan anatara system Rukyat dengan Sistem Hisab. Perbedaan-perbedaan ini kemudian banyak menimbulkan masalah. Namun, kita dapat berpedoman kepada salah satu dari mujtahida yang melakukan aktivitas tersebut.

Dasar Pemahaman

Golongan yang menggunakan system rukyat berpendapat bahwa ; awal dan akhir Ramadhan harus ditetapkan atas dasar hasil rukyat (melihat dengan mata kepala), sementara golongan yang menggunakan hisab berpendapat bahwa hisab harus dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam menetapkan awal dan akhir Ramadhan. Pendapat itu didasarkan pada dalil-dalil yang termaktub dalam Al-quran.

Kemajuan teknologi saat ini telah berkembang begitu pesat, sehingga untuk mengetahui waktu-waktu dan feneomena tertentu baik yang telah terjadi dan yang akan terjadi akan dapat diperkirakan secara lebih tepat dan mudah. Dengan didukung oleh alat yang cukup canggih, hisablah yang paling akurat untuk menentukan awal dan akhir dari pada bulan Ramadhan.

Rasulullah SAW sangat berhati-hati dalam menentukan bulan Ramadhan dibandingkan dengan bulan yang lain. Kemudian beliau berpuasa karena melihat hilal Ramadhan, maka bila hilal Ramadhan tidak terlihat tertutup oleh awan, maka beliau menghitung lamanya bulan sya’ban itu 30 hari (HR. Abu Dawud).

Ramadhan Tahun 2018 akam dilewati selama 29 hari
