El Templo de Susanoo

Susanoo fue descubierto por una nave exploradora en las fronteras del territorio colonizado en el brazo de Orión, en la región próxima al halo galáctico, originalmente se trataba de un planeta cuya temperatura era muy elevada para ser habitado, en promedio se llegaba a los 318 grados Kelvin, alcanzando casi los 338 en el ecuador, si bien podía soportar algunas formas de vida bacteriana, no era capaz de sustentar vida compleja.

Su química atmosférica no distaba mucho de lo apropiado para la vida, pero altas concentraciones de dióxido de carbono, eran la causa de que el efecto invernadero calentara la superficie del planeta a los niveles de inhabitabilidad. El proceso de terraformación no fue excesivamente complicado, la introducción de bacterias fotosintéticas aéreas y luego acuáticas permitió reducir la concentración de dióxido de carbono y a cambio generar el oxigeno necesario para hacerla respirable.

Cuando la temperatura empezó a bajar, se inició la formación de gruesos casquetes de hielo en las regiones continentales, donde incidía menos la luz de la estrella, lo que redujo el nivel del océano. Al ocurrir esto, al norte de uno de sus tres continentes, el retroceso de las aguas del mar, develó la existencia de las ruinas de una antigua edificación, construida íntegramente en basalto negro.

Lo más sorprendente de este hallazgo es que fue el único en su tipo en Susanoo, nunca se encontró ningún otro vestigio de la existencia de algún tipo de civilización desaparecida. Las excavaciones no hallaron la presencia de algún tipo de fósiles o artefactos que mostraran, que en algún momento hubo vida de algún tipo en el planeta.

La construcción, excelentemente conservada, era una especie de templo o salón de algún tipo, con una base circular de unos ochocientos metros cuadrados y un techo abovedado de unos diez metros de alto, adornado por seis torres terminadas en punta, sin un propósito aparente, que le daban el aspecto de una gigantesca corona negra, su centro tenía una gran galería o sala completamente despejada con la excepción de las seis columnas que se proyectaban como torres en el techo de la estructura y cuatro habitaciones separadas situadas equidistantemente en el perímetro del círculo.

Uno de los aspectos más curiosos de la estructura, era la presencia de unas estrechas pero increíblemente altas puertas, sesenta y cinco centímetros por poco menos de cinco metros, que daban acceso al edificio y a las cuatro habitaciones internas, dada la gravedad del planeta, muy similar a la de mundos como Palas y Dione, de las más intensas de los mundos colonizados, era poco probable que criaturas de tal altura, puedan haber evolucionado con una base tan estrecha, como para requerir puertas de tal altura.

Aun hoy las ruinas del templo de Susanoo, son un misterio, no se ha encontrado en este sector de la galaxia, nada parecido, ni rastros de alguna civilización que pueda reclamar autoría. Se cree que fue una edificación construida por alguna raza alienígena, proveniente de algún otro mundo diferente a Susanoo, pero se desconoce porque si se dieron el tiempo para construir esta edificación, no construyeron otras, porque sólo una en todo el planeta, y cuál fue su propósito.

The Temple of Susanoo

Susanoo was discovered by an explorer ship on the borders of the colonized territory in the Orion arm, in the region near the galactic halo, originally it was a planet whose temperature was too high to be inhabited, on average it reached 318 degrees Kelvin, reaching almost 338 degrees at the equator, although it could support some forms of bacterial life, it was not capable of sustaining complex life.

Its atmospheric chemistry was not far from suitable for life, but high concentrations of carbon dioxide caused the greenhouse effect to heat the planet's surface to levels of uninhabitability. The process of terraformation was not excessively complicated, the introduction of aerial and then aquatic photosynthetic bacteria made it possible to reduce the concentration of carbon dioxide and in turn generate the oxygen necessary to make it breathable.

When the temperature began to fall, the formation of thick ice caps began in the continental regions, where the star's light had less influence, which reduced the level of the ocean. When this happened, to the north of one of its three continents, the retreat of the sea waters, revealed the existence of the ruins of an old building, built entirely in black basalt.

The most surprising thing about this finding is that it was the only one of its kind in Susanoo, no other vestige of the existence of some kind of disappeared civilization was ever found. The excavations found no fossils or artifacts to show that there was ever life of any kind on the planet.

The construction, excellently preserved, was a kind of temple or hall of some kind, with a circular base of about eight hundred square meters and a vaulted ceiling about ten meters high, adorned by six towers finished in point, without an apparent purpose, which gave it the appearance of a gigantic black crown, its center had a large gallery or room completely clear with the exception of six columns that were projected as towers on the roof of the structure and four separate rooms located equidistantly on the perimeter of the circle.

One of the most curious aspects of the structure was the presence of some narrow but incredibly high doors, sixty-five centimeters by a little less than five meters, which gave access to the building and the four internal rooms, given the gravity of the planet, very similar to that of worlds such as Palas and Dione, of the most intense of the colonized worlds, it was unlikely that creatures of such height could have evolved with such a narrow base as to require doors of such height.

Even today the ruins of Susanoo's temple are a mystery, nothing similar has been found in this sector of the galaxy, nor traces of any civilization that could claim authorship. It is believed that it was a building built by some alien race, coming from some other world different from Susanoo, but it is unknown because if they gave themselves the time to build this building, they did not build others, because only one in the whole planet, and what was its purpose.
