Kicked Out Of The Tournament By @clove71... I Forgot About Hydra
I didn't expect to win 2 out of 3 battles when I was matched against @clove71 in the tournament tonight. But I might have had a shot if I had remembered that Hydra was there...

I hardly ever use the neutral cards in the Steemmonsters game. The only ones I think are really useful are the Magi Sphinx and Hydra (level 3 or higher).
But they are tucked away all the way down the page, in the bottom corner. As a result, I keep forgetting they are there for me to play them.
Stupid of me, of course. In tonight's tournament, remembering Hydra could have changed everything...
Moving forward in the tournament, I eventually ended up facing @clove71. I think everyone who plays Steemmonsters knows that she's one of the top players.
However, it was a Silver League-tournament, which was in my advantage. I know from experience it isn't easy to adapt to a lower level than the one you are used to. All of a sudden, your monsters don't have the abilities you are counting on, and you need to change your gameplay.
And indeed, the unexpected happened: @clove71 won the first game, but I managed to win the second one. My dear Elemental Phoenix never lets me down.
The final battle was a 24 mana Melee Mayhem. We both went for the Death Splinter, but as usual, I had overlooked Hydra...

If I would have added her to the team, the outcome might have been different. Or maybe not. I'll never know. It was a close call anyway, even without Hydra.
Maybe this was the loss I needed to never forget about Hydra again...

Hydra is strong (except lv1 now) in the back with its thorns.
Good luck next time!

I really like her when she's level 3. Before that, I think she's pretty useless... she dies very quickly
