Does the Bookkeeping Accounting Tool really work for Steem Monsters?

in #steemmonsters5 years ago (edited)

Did you know there is a new accounting tool service called Bookkeeping that's available on the STEEM blockchain? Well I'm wondering if it really works for Steem Monsters, so let check it out.

What is Bookkeeping?

Bookkeeping is a new service created by @holger80 to report simple accounting for various STEEM blockchain apps.

And we are lucky enough to have Steem Monsters already included in the apps available.

How do you use Bookkeeping?

Well for Steem Monsters it's really simple. You type the following in any comments section and the bot will get back to you, really quickly.

But the really question is how relevant is it for Steem Monsters?

So let me try it out in the comments se below and I'll let you know my thoughts.

Ok , so here are the results provided by the bookkeeping service.

Ok, so it currently shows I have a loss of around -763.216 STEEM and -28.572 SBD which seems about right because it doesn't consider the value of the cards I have in my account.

But we can use the discord bot for that by typing this command in the #sm-voters_hut channel.

$stats just2random

sm-voterBOTToday at 06:49
:stars: Steem Monsters Stats for: just2random :stars:
Number of cards: 804 - Alpha: 397 - Beta: 172 - Promo: 8
Common: 589, Rare: 130, Epic: 53, Legendary: 32
Gold cards: 9 ## BCX: 12511 ## Value: $ 1459.96 ##

And it shows my current account has a market value of $1459.96 which I believe is also fairly accurate.

So if you do the math on the STEEM and SBD conversions I'm up about $1000 dollars which is nice.

But this doesn't account for the extra cards squirreled away in my other accounts, either. ;-)

Conclusion

The Bookkeeping service is a really neat way of keeping tabs on your Steem Monsters finances on the STEEM blockchain. And as it appears to be picking up the marketplace buys and sells too, so it's perfect for those wanting to do a little Steem Monsters trading at peakmonsters.

You'll just need to factor in that your cards have real value too! So make sure you head on over to the Steem Monsters discord to check your card account value before you get depressed if you are seeing losses.

But maybe sometime in the future the bookkeeping service can add this feature too, and become the best personal accountant you'll ever need. Great Job! @holger80

PS: You gotta love the STEEM Blockchain and the fact that STEEM Monsters is a fully on blockchain Trading Card Game

Nice! Do you reckon that grand is the cards appreciating in value... or the cards you've acquired while playing? Or both?

Also, if you included the upvotes you've received for Steemmonster posts, you're probably doing really well.

My cards have a value of $34, so I'm still down a little bit, but I am quite enjoying the game...

The market is moving up, so it's all good :-D
And wow it even records tournament fees too!

I was lucky enough to be receiving beta packs when they were the rewards :-D So I did ok out of it.

The cards haven't appreciated much but have rather held their value over time. So I could actually make more STEEM than I paid for them if I sold up right now. (if that makes sense)

It was better than HODLing STEEM. 100%
