Steemmonsters: I have two Steemmonsters card, how do I use them.

I've been hearing and reading a lot about Steemmonsters but can get a hold of it. Been struggling to understand how the game is played.
I was gifted with two Steemmonsters card, would love to learn how to use them. They have been there for over some months but lately I've been seeing a lot of posts about Steemmonster and I think I'm ready to learn how to play the game.
Any help on how to go about it will be appreciated. Thanks!
If you want to play the tournaments you will need to purchase the starter pack. It cost $5 if you already have a Steemit account or $10 with a Seemit account creation.

Hey @hornblende, to add to what @rentmoney said, the games haven't started yet so you still have time to build a team. A team is a set of cards that work together and battle for you. Steemmonsters isn't like Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon where you use the whole deck every match, you'll only use 4-5 per match.
Long story short if you wanted to battle (and the game was ready, as of today) you'd need one of the 3 summoner cards (Selina sky who spawns dragon monster and 1 other splinter of your choice, Malric Inferno who spawns monsters from the fire splinter, or Zintar Mortalis who spawns monsters from the death splinter )
The summoner cards add a boost to the monsters and are mandatory to have in order to call out your monster cards. The cards you have in the picture are 2 common type (there are common, rare, epic, & legendary card types) monster cards from 2 different splinters (from 2 different elements).
You can keep collecting those specific cards and combine them to level them up (to get them to level 2 you need one more of each card, to max them out you need about 370 more), you can continue to acquire more cards from the fire and death splinters and build your deck and teams to battle with from there, you can hold them, trade them, or sell them.
You don't have to max out all your cards to play though.
It's not complicated, but it takes a quick second to digest everything to create a plan that works best for how you want to enjoy the game.
