It's clear at this point that the phenomenally successful and groundbreaking Steem Monsters is more than a trend. Created by @YabaPMatt and @Aggroed, this blockchain game has rekindled the fire for gaming that has always burned deep inside this child of the eighties. Steem Monsters is not only an ever-expanding game of genius-level strategy, but a total system of education in crypto-trading.

@CarrieAllen and I have no children, but if we did, you better believe we would throw them into Steem Monsters head first. "Alright Junior, this is an investment game. Here's $100 to start with. Your goal is to have $200 in a month. Can you do it?" That's a goal I'd love to watch my child accomplish over and over.

WAYS TO MAKE MONEY WITH STEEM MONSTERS

1. Use your Affiliate Link

With all the numerous ways to make money around Steem Monsters, the most simple is definitely the Referral Program. Earlier today, Carrie made about twelve bucks just because one of her referrals bought 100 packs. 100 packs may seem like a big purchase, but between Carrie and myself we have purchased several hundreds of packs. If we had signed up using a referral link, someone could have made nearly a hundred bucks in referral bonuses. We're not even the big spenders. This is one of those hook a whale and win situations.

I'm the worst at following my own advice. I don't have any referrals yet (not ones I get paid for anyway). I just kind of suck at remembering to share links. Plus, pretty much everyone I know from Steem is already into the monsters in a big way.

2. Buy Booster Packs, Sell Individual Cards

I know, it sounds obvious. Here's how it will work. If you buy enough booster packs, you'll eventually land a valuable card. Here's the kicker: You never know how many is enough. Opening packs is by far the most exhilarating way to go. Remember that anytime with a two dollar booster pack, you may find that gold-foil Legendary. I did, and one of these days I expect that Gold Dragon to sell for $900 (and that's a deal).

3. Get Some Maxed Cards

Before you react harshly with complaints of how expensive max cards can be, allow me to explain the rewards that become possible when you play with maxed cards. Under the current Season model, a Champion can earn up to thirty packs in a season. The season that just began is fourteen days. This means that a single account with a good max team of any color can earn sixty packs per month. You'd be surprised how many valuable gold-foils and Legendaries can pop out of a mere sixty packs.

4. Do Not Hesitate

I'm a hodler at heart. I feel like the token that I'm hodling here is Steem Monsters. I'm only looking to increase my holdings in Steem Monsters, as I'm sure most of you are. Within Steem Monsters however, feel free to trade, trade, trade. Every single card can be looked at as a small-cap coin. It's easy to watch the markets and trends, and the values of the cards move in waves. Based on what teams people are winning with, you can buy low and sell high all day long. Make those moves. Buy those cheap commons. You can always sell them later for a tasty profit.
