100 Day Poetry Challenge Day 91 "Still Cool"

This ain't rappin
This ain't about gun clappin
But similar
Because these words hit your medulla so hard and fast
They're a blast from the future and the past
It'll leave your brain a stain on the glass
If you've read my poems before you should be familiar
About the injustice I see daily
That's why if you're not fam
It will always be "Fuck You Pay Me."
All I hear around the chatrooms is "How the white man is losing.."
If he's losing, who the f@#k is winning?
I don't get that.
When you say those words and I look out of my window
What I see doesn't reflect that.
Some of you are still racist when race doesn't exist
I can't respect that.
If competition seems like oppression
You better check that
Because when we clean up our glass house
We won't be throwing stones
You better bet that
I love everyone though so all the haters need to get back
(does a James Brown dance)
People from my past say I used to be so cool
I was cool in school when I didn't know shit
I learned my lessons the hard way
Now that Trump's president
I see through the bullshit
I'm still cool, but I grew to realize the facts
If you ain't with me, you're against me
Whether you're white or you're black
If you still say Mike Brown is a thug
and deserved to die like that
That's wack
Some of those who told me that
Know we did worse shit than him
And we didn't get clapped
So run and tell that
Stop the hate. Show love. Talk to me nice or don't talk to me at all. Respect! Rastafari!
