Steemit Sandwich Contest Week # 10 (Theme: Apple) - Sweet and Sour Apple Roll Ups (2nd Entry)

I wanted to highlight the sweetness and sourness of apple flavours by making a Sweet and Sour Apple Roll Ups.

Basically, I prepared an apple butter that’s on the sour side by using apple cider vinegar with apple. Then, I spooned the apple butter on flatten bread and add some apple chucks, roll them up, fry and serve them like french toast!

For the apple butter, I followed the steps below:

1. Combine the apples, apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a pot over medium heat
2. Bring to a simmer, partially cover and cook until the apples are soft
3. Puree the mixture in a blender

For the roll ups, I followed these steps:

1. Flatten out the bread
2. Spread the apple butter on top
3. Add diced apple
4. Roll up the bread and fry in melted butter until bread turns golden
5. Serve with cinnamon and maple syrup

This is a delightful dessert sandwich that everyone would appreciate. Remember apple is not only healthy and would keep you away from the doctor, it is also very flavourful and make a wonderful dessert.
