A. Background

The subject of this angle has been studied in Grade V, but in Elementary School students only learn a little about the types of angles, the types of angles studied are only three types of angle. After that the material of this angle is re-studied in Junior High School class VII in this corner material more broadly explained and the types of angles there are 5 types, so students more easily understand this material because some types of angles have been studied in Elementary School. In the students daily life is very easy to find objects in the form of angles, for example on the table, windows and others. In this corner material, students should understand the notion of angles and types of angles so that students can apply it in everyday life.
In this material difficulties that usually faced by students is on the material types of angles, in this material is usually wrong in giving the name of the angle, if not knowing the type of angle and large an angle, then it must first know the magnitude of an angle that is owned by that's just the name of the corner.
The way to overcome these difficulties is by way of teachers should provide examples of angles in everyday life. for example on tables, windows, chairs and others, so students will more easily remember it. Or by directly showing the object related to the angle to the students, such as making props.

B. Hardware Tools

The angular clock props are props that can be used to determine the angular angle formed by the clock. The teaching and learning process by using props means that students can see the visual aids to be used so that the students will be able to feel and see and students can use their minds to think logically. The materials and tools used to create a clock angle are:

Tool:

  • Marker
  • Scissor
  • Period

Material:

  • Paperboard
  • Cardboard
  • Glue
  • Origami paper

How to manufacture:

  • Cut out cardboard size 50 x 45 cm
  • Draw a circle on cardboard using the term, then the circle is divided into 12 sections
  • Then wrap the origami paper with the same size as the part of the already divided circle
  • Stick the origami paper on the cardboard paper in the shape of the circle
  • Next, paste the paperboard paper that has been attached to the cardboard paper, then stick the paper in a clockwise shape.
  • Write the numbers 1-12 on the circle and write the 30 degrees number on each top of the circle.

How to use props Clock Angle:

  • This tool can be used individually or in groups
  • Next show the direction of clockwise rotation ie right
  • If the long needle rotates one full rotation then the short clock will rotate to the next one because the full angle of rotation is 360degress and one clock round 12 number then the clock angle is 360/12 = 30 degrees. For example, clocked at 02.00 hence point clockwise to 02 and long clock to 12, then count big corner and formed by that clock.

C. Teacher Teaching Way Using Angle Clock Props

1- Next the teacher explains the part contained in the clock angle. In the corner clock, there are 12 numbers wherein each number there are 30 to find out how many angles formed by two clocks must be calculated first the number of angles.
2- Next the teacher gives the example, for example now the clock shows at 03.00 o'clock, then the teacher directs at 03.00 o'clock and tells the students to calculate equally how much angle is formed by the clock, after the student answer the teacher ask again what kind of angle is it?
That way students will be able to know the types of angles.
3- If the students already understand everything then the teacher told the students to often repeat the lesson at home and teachers sufficient teaching and learning process for today.
