The boy who thought he saw a black hole in the forest-Extra reading for kids!

Once there was a little boy named Luan who loved animals. 

He loved any animal and he thought he knew most of them as he read a lot of books about animal. He lived with his parents near a wonderful forest. 

The forest had the most beautiful trees and animals you could think of. Every school holiday he would spend hours in the woods playing and watching all the animals. 

One day when he was sitting eating his lunch that his mother use to pack for him, as she knew that he would get hungry through the day. He only came home once it started to become dark.

One evening he was watching television with his family and the program was all about black holes. 

This really made him happy as he knew that in the far distance from earth there were black holes, but not here on earth.

A black hole is a hole in space, it is a star that explodes and form a black hole. 

Luan was fascinated by this. A few days later he was back in the forest and there was a black hole. 

He was very confused as he did not think there were black holes on earth.

He still remembered what the blach hole looked like that he saw on television.

He could not believe his eyes as it was small but he was told they are only in space. This black hole looked a bit diffent but to him it was a black hole.

He ran home and called his mother, please follow me you will not believe me but I have found a black hole in the forest. 

His mother laughed at him and said no Luan that is not possible, remember we watched them and they are in space because they come from stars. 

Please he begged come see it is only a small one but it is definitely a black hole. 

His mother followed him and he told her to move softly as he did not want it to disappear. As they moved slowly nearer to where he saw the black hole they saw a little bird. 

O mother I hope this little bird is not going to chase the black hole away. He told her they were very near now and she must sit on the grass with him and watch the tree just in front of them.

Then his mother saw his black hole and she suddenly understood exactly what he meant. Up in the tree there was a Bird of Paradise doing a dance for the other little bird. 

His mother immediately understood why he did think it was a black hole. The bird was trying to mate with the other little bird and that is why he looked so funny to the Luan. 

She explained to him that when a male bird is asking a female bird (Bird of Paradise) to marry him this is the way he asks. 

People fall in love and get engaged and then get married. She told him birds do the same just in a different way.

He said but this brown little bird is not as pretty as the other one. 

His mother then told him in nature the female is always the one that is not the prettiest the males are because they have to impress the female bird. 

O mother so this is a bird and not a black hole. Yes my darling. 

It is a Bird of Paradise male trying to get the little brown bird to marry him.

He took out his camera and started taking pictures of the birds as he was scared that they would not believe him at school.

This was so nice to him that he wanted to share it with his friends at school. 

So see there are so many ways that we can find interesting things to show our friends by just looking at nature and really finding out about different animals.

Other children might have other interests like making kites that fly well and many other things. 

So it is good to get something you are interested in and find out more about it or make it with your own hands. 

When he got to school after the holiday he could not wait to show his friends the pictures. 

They were not all lucky enough to live next to the forest. They could not believe how beautiful these birds were and they all wanted to go and visit him to see what the woods can teach them. 

That is why we have to try not to burn down forests or start building there as this will make it impossible for these animals to survive.

The next holiday he had so many friend come and visit him as they all found out that there were really very wonderful things to see in the woods.

They spent a lot of time in the woods and saw some lovely animals.
