Hogweed is a common plant in South Africa BUT I have yet seen a newsflash or article about the fight against it.
As for the Water hyacinth, now that is a different story especially in one of our most famous dams, Hartbeespoort Dam. They just cannot get rid of them.
Each area has its own bad dangerous plants. Yes, we have various poisonous berries that children can eat, but this is a very rare case. But Hogweed burns are a reality every summer
