I agree with most of your opinion some authors are using steem just to make the quick buck ( we all want to make money nothing wrong with that ) but if someone decides to make double or triple post with the same article/post (steem, dtube and youtube ) then its getting weird.
On every other platform if a video or content is bad people will tell it or at least you will see the proportion of likes and dislikes.
On steem some people may be " scared " to say something negative cause they think that this can affect their earnings.
