What’s The Best Thing That Happened To Me Because Of Steemit?

Today’s prompt for @dragosroua’s #challenge30days is “What’s The Best Thing That Happened To You Because Of Steemit?”
“Best” is very subjective, but since it’s subjective to me, this shouldn’t be difficult. There have been a lot of things that I would say have been “good” in my time on Steemit.
I’ve met a lot of interesting people
I’ve worked on my typing skills which had declined after I stopped writing reports in an earlier life
I started writing a fiction series that I make posts for sporadically. If you’re interested, you can find the most recent post here https://steemit.com/story-mentor/@themanwithnoname/the-crow-with-a-name. There are links to the earlier posts at the bottom.
The Best Thing That Has Happened
The thing that excites me the most is my newfound interest in collecting silver. I had liked it before, but never really had an understanding of what it is, what it’s worth, and how FUN! It is to collect. There’s a certain thrill when I’ve saved enough money to make a trip to the local coin store (LCS) worth it. I get to strut in and pick out fancy new coins/rounds and take them home to add to my collection. It’s fun getting to dream about buying bigger and more expensive coins.
The #SSG Steem Silver Gold community has been great! I have been hanging out on their Discord channel and the folks there are really helpful, giving tips on which coins to buy right now, where to find the best deals, and certain things to consider when buying coins. As someone who knew basically nothing about coins prior to joining Steemit, I’m thrilled at how much I’ve learned and how much I want to continue collecting.
I don't want to make a silver post without including some pics. I would hate from one of those brave individuals afflicted with Stackitus to come here expecting relief and leave disappointed. So here's a coin that I haven't featured yet, an 1883 Morgan Dollar.
For all of you who have sparked an interest in silver collecting, thank you!
Here are some of my previous entries in this contest:

Silverarum Stackitus. A particularly pervasive and persistent pox, that one. To the point, where those afflicted do not even consider it a pox, but a blessing. A glorious, heaven sent blessing. Long live silver!
Okay, I'll stop. :)
Oh, cool coins, by the way.
In reading through some of these today, it's good to see that people have different things that they find to be the best things about Steemit. That means as more people arrive, there will be more emphasis on all of these things, and even more will manifest. I hope that means they all spell good things to come for Steemit and STEEM.
Ha ha, you understand. It's great that the curse that is the cure. It's the only thing that makes you feel better, but it also makes it worse. What can you do?
Thanks, I got that one as a gift. I didn't understand the significance of it at the time, but I do now.
Yeah, the whole point is that you can find like-minded people and discuss the things that are important to you. For the most part, there are other people who share an interest with you, and it's just a matter of connecting with them through the maze that is Steemit. Hopefully that does spell good things for Steemit and Steem. I see that Ned is out touring and posting about it. That's something! I would be thrilled if they would hire a real CEO and run it like a real business, but for now I'll take what we can get.
At least he's out there and we're seeing it. I'll take that, even though I would prefer some video over the few pictures I've seen. He looks awfully lonely, too. I was thinking he should have someone with him, just to fill in space or something. He surely does, we just didn't get to see them in the frame.
Thank you for sharing the 1883 Morgan Dollar. It reminded me that I have few of these tucked away. When I was a kid I collected coins. Mainly ones I came across, I bought a few with my allowance, and my Dad gave me some Morgan's that he had saved when he was kid.
It will be interesting to revisit this former love.
That's great! I'm glad that it sparked your memory and that you'll be able to enjoy them again. They're beautiful coins and the fact that they're worth a fair amount is icing on the cake. Yeah, break those out and post some pictures!
thanks, really liked your post. coin-supper. more coins!)
What coins are your favorites? Do you have a collection?
