RE: Celebrating my 1st Steemiversary! (best of DRutter year one)

WOW dude look at that! Great history of your time here, awesome story if you’re steemit life. As much as I love bud I’m also super interested in how accurate you’ve been with the btc predictions. Dude... if it goes to 100,000 by 2022 there will be a few million new millionaires and probably like 250,000 new billionaires.... could be more. Because when btc fires up, everything goes with it. Going to be madness. Maybe we can all have financial freedom :) that’s the way it’s heading! We will be there!

It sounds like you're talking about a transfer or wealth into the crypto realm. I think a lot of large banks are now realizing that is the future and are positioning themselves either to profit from it, or to absorb it into the traditional banking world.
I would like to earn a living doing my activism and other efforts here, but I don't consider myself an investor. I'm not trying to profit off the change in price... although I obviously do watch the price closely because I like spotting patterns in data. I hope there are many more millionaires, and that they're the right kind of people - those who want to change the world and make it sustainable, peaceful, and prosperous for all inhabitants.

Yep that’s it, my thought are that if currently so many people hold some kind of crypto, be it bitcoin, XRP, steem, or whatever... if bitcoin does jump to 100,000 in 5 years then that will kind of mean that steem will 10x plus the others. That’s the best thing about cryptos the price is the same in USA, China, Venezuela, thailand, Africa, so other countries / people could hugely benefit! I hope it falls into the right hands too and wealth is more widespread. I kind of think the way things are going that in 10 years so many people won’t be working anymore and we are just going to have massive paradigm shifts more and More

Ahhh I like the way you think on that!
I think "work" will be a thing of the past, except in the physics sense of the term. Things still need moving, lifting, and so on... but most of that can either be done by machines, or by people doing it because they're suited for it and they enjoy doing it. Most or all of us should be doing what we're suited for and what we enjoy, rather than "a job" which most of the time we barely tolerate, or actively hate.
You mentioned Venezuela, my favourite country of late, hahah. I'm learning some Spanish. I'm in my 40s so it's not easy... and I was never much of a language person (science/math nerd here). A friend from Venez just told me 5 Steem bought him a few bags of groceries and supplies! I told him, 5 Steem is 4 bucks, which would get me a small bag of potatoes. Crazy difference! And it's not just that. The situation is so bad there, just having currency doesn't mean you can buy anything. Sometimes there's nothing at any cost. But Steem holds value and spends well there, whereas the local currency (Bolivar) loses value every week.
Another amigo told me his credit card bought him major household appliances when he first got married and bought a house 11 years ago. His spending limit has been increased several times over the years. Even so, he can now only use it to buy a kilo of chicken before it's maxed out!
These examples give people from other countries (like Canada and the USA) a better idea of what severe economic problems look like. Many lessons need to be learned here!

Yep good point, as far as we can currently visualise, humans will still be needed to move things, lift etc.. but I wonder how outlandish tech is going to get, it’s only going to “make our lives easier”.... hmm. I hope it doesn’t evolve even more rapidly but I’m sure it will, and as much as I don’t like the crazy changes, I’m kinda excited to see how the world is going to be.

That’s the truth, we all need to be doing things we really want to do, not have about 70% of our awake life doing some task we hate! For a small payment that we have to spend on surviving!

Ah cool dude fellow math/science nerd here too! I’m currently living in China teaching mechanical engineering. China’s tech is off the chain, in terms of the younger generation have EVERYTHING linked to their phones... food payment, orders, shopping, bus, bike hire, air con... the list goes on!! It’s wild... :/

Ah man the Venezuela situation is madness. The currency inflation is crazy, using piles of cash to buy toilet paper. Or it being cheaper to write on money than to buy paper, plus those examples you gave above... it’s crzy! That’s where blockchain can come in. I had an idea today to start a steemit page “Africa project” and donate everything I make in one year to a water system or something - doesn’t have to be Africa it could be anywhere. But imagine if everyone on steemit knew about it and upvotes the post daily, the funny thing is it costs us NOTHING to upvote, and still lots of people seem to never do it.
