Minnows Unite - Ode To Those Hoarding Steem Power By Not Upvoting Those Who Deserve It

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Well done!! You're an active Steemian with a ton of SP that publicly neglects those who deserve it far more than you. You truly want Steemit to succeed and global adoption (to make you and your buddies filthy rich).

Do you know how many thousands of people you insult when you don't reply or upvote outside of your inner high-SP circle? Do you realize how poorly that reflects on your character, while you feed us BS about caring in your posts? We don't need more deceptive politicians looking to get witness votes and a larger flock.

When one click of your finger can change someone's entire day, week, or more, you consciously choose to hoard your Steem Power. Want to blame the "inequitable curation rewards model"? Want to ruin your deflated reputation even more? Actions or inactions speak louder and always will.

When were the last 20-100% votes you gave? When did you rock someone with a 100% vote to blow them away with encouragement? Please exclude votes on yourself and your besties' weak material to earn them more in 30 minutes than most make over a month when calculating.

How about going beyond someone's reply to proactively read some of their blog posts and upvote or comment on those? ::faint::

Does your RECHARGEABLE voting % slider need to stay above 90% to be able to sleep well at night? Mine has been 35-65% for a month and I view that as a good thing. Recognition with the act of upvoting (support) inspires and shows appreciation. It lets people know they're doing a good job and should keep it up. But, you already know this and don't care.

Using Steem Power to vote costs nothing but a few imaginary percentage points that regenerate quickly. Yet, you hoard it, and hoard it, like it was your "Precious".

Right now, I feel that much of the leadership is clearly not a good example of what new adopters should strive to emulate. Many whales are amazing, but they're a minority. Many leaders seem to turn a deaf ear because it doesn't pay them in the short term.

The irony is that many of us know this, but are forced to compromise on ideals to play the game for the time being. People get conditioned, by design, to accept what we shouldn't if the entire community was on a level playing field.

It's like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

My Gratitude:

I offer the most sincere thank you to those whose giving actions reflect their amazing character in the form of guiding others, engaging their audiences, fighting abuse, and upvoting generously. @swissclive is one of these people. Follow them to see how leaders are supposed to act.

New adopters need more leaders who aren't obsessed with their own reflection and a daily revenue quota. When these people learn to truly give on a regular basis, then they'll be true leaders to me.

Please voice your opinions below. Feel free to upvote me, but PLEASE upvote OTHERS more. I want everyone to be successful, not just people with lots of Steem Power.
