[Question] - Tags and Whales

I have been thinking about the future of Steemit, especially the dolphin whale relationship, and also the relationship with tags.

When a user posts, they are offered to select up to 5 tags. Lets say a user who is now a whale, predominantly uses the #steemit tag. Being a whale, are they a whale no matter what they post, or are they a whale in relation to the tags they use?

I think this is an important thought because a whale who has built up their steem power using the photography tag shouldn't be able to have the same weight when posting a post with science as a tag for example?

The idea that a whale has influence and weight behind everything is a bit wreckless I think. Using the same example above, a whale could come across a post which the topic is foreign to them, and maybe through a lack of understanding, could simply downvote the post. I don't believe they should have that kind of power.

Tags are important. It is also important to understand how and why a user became a whale. It is impossible for all the users to read all the posts all the time, and this line of thinking could encourage specialised and topic-focused whales. We would be able to tell, ah, user so and so is a whale in the steemit tag because he or she is a developer and most of their posts, if not all, are focused on steemit and they have used the steemit tag x amount of times.

This dynamic can open a lot more possibilities. As mentioned in a previous post, How Steemit Should Be Sold, I spoke about tribes, and how I hoped tribes would be the future of steemit. A whale would essentially be a leader of dolphins in a specific tribe. I could be wrong, but I do not see how this is possible with the current structure of Steemit. The system already allows for this kind of structure as you have to add at least one tag. That one tag should add to the algorithm in relation to his reputation, and influence among the users.
