Steemit has advertisers

And it's ok. If you take a quick look at the steemit ecosphere you will quickly notice that there are alot of upvote and resteem bots. The resources they have behind them and how they influence what we see is very similar to ad agencies power and reach. This is both a good and bad thing. Good, advertising money means the system is viable, more exposure to quality writing in your topic of choice. Bad, I don't know man, we all win here really... Ok, possible Le bad is if it all becomes automated and some asshat that got in Steem early and pays his way into our eyes over and over again bombards us off the platform, and aside from some Jerry mandering.. I'm not seeing that. Let's keep making Steem the best it can be and spreading the good crypto word!!
