Steemit Meet-up in Philadelphia

Who am I?

Good morning fellow Steemians. For those of you that I have not met yet, my name is Frank Yakonick and I am a sports writer here on Steemit and also will be hosting a daily pick'em contest when the NBA season begins in a little over a month! Overall, I love Steemit and really believe it can bring great things to its users. The possibilities, as already shown by so many user developed apps in conjunction with Steemit, are truly endless.

What is the purpose of the article?

I was talking in the comments of another post and expressed my desire to host a meet-up, similar to the ones we've all seen in certain places before and I would like to do this for members in the Philadelphia area. This would of course be open to anyone really but will be held in Philly. I was urged to begin to post about it and get the word out as with Steemit still in beta, finding people close to you on here is a bit harder than one might expect. I would like to be able to pull this together in the early winter months, as to not have to worry about an unpredictable climate in the northeast United States during the winter months.

How can you help?

If you are from the area and would like to come to the event when it happens, just keep an eye out for more Posts and be sure to let me know that in the comments. What I am really looking for help with, from some Steemians with more of an ability to reach more people, is just getting the word out that the event is in the planning stages and that I am looking for a few people to help me when the time comes. Generally, I am trying to get this post out so that people know this is happening soon. If you would like to help, please resteem this post. A resteem will bring this article to more people's eyes and I think that is more valuable to what I am trying to do than even an upvote.

Also, anyone who has been involved in a Steemit meet-up elsewhere, I would love to chat about your experiences overall. Please leave a comment if you have attended an event like this before and I will be sure to follow you and hopefully we can chat more at your convenience.

If you've made it this far, thank you! I know this isn't the most groundbreaking article you will read today but what comes of this article could be great things. Maybe the next big innovation to Steemit is made by 2 people who are introduced at this meet-up. You're resteem could be the reason 1 of them saw it. I don't have much to talk about with specifics but getting to talk to more people and learning from them will be a huge help in the next steps.
