Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 4/9/2019.
I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com.
Many have came here to discuss the daily Steem price's and changes for over 2 years now.

I also want to mention incase your wondering that when something doesn't seem normal from the other regular "Price Updates" that the daily Steem price posts do occasionally change their format from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as it's important for your daily plan or strategy.
And even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and so keeping an eye on the price.
So without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price change for 4/9/2019.

Should you be trading with Steem today...?

It's the month of September and seems we started with some hiccups as Steemit crashed, it was quickly fixed but yet we had the same problem's of not being able to post or upvote, thankfully everything is back up and running folks. It's annoying as it adds more delays but we got to keep this ship moving forward, and this seems to be especially true since the HardFork21 or is it 22..

Brace yourselves HardFork-21...22 is HERE!

We have indeed switched over and are now currently running on Hardfork-22, wait what? Yup but the initial change-over to 21 happened at 11.00 on the 27th August. I was lucky enough to of had a early work shift and so had already finished work as the HardFork-21 was about to go down. Many other Steemians were also coming on, with many going out of their way to see what was happening on Steemit. From what I could see it really was community at it's best, as I think regardless of the new changes it brought some people even closer. I loved all the posts from those who were sneaking on to Steemit while at work or when their spouse was distracted, some while travelling, but still many were all coming on at the same time checking on Steemit. We connected and commented on each other's posts about what we were experiencing with the initial reactions to Hardfork21. The initial change-over was super smooth, well at first as you could barely even notice we had already switched over, but this didn't last long lol... Sure everything seemed fine for the first hour but after Steemit came crashing down. But the Dev Team were monitoring the event and so the whole blockchain was quickly restored. But unfortunately it was noticed that the fix still brought some issues. For example many still couldn't do any posts neither could we vote. I believe this problem lasted around 6 to 7 hours before it was resolved. The cause of the problem? Funnily it was a whale who was about to test the new downvote pool, and so a very large downvote was cast... and bang.. the blockchain went down! Also strange was how many were claiming they saw no difference at first with the switch over? I know I can honestly say I noticed the difference pretty much right away with the votes and earnings, what about you, still all the same? Didn't think so..well atleast that is the case for most of us.

Brace Yourselves!! MORE HARDFORK, HARDFORK 22!

Nope this isn't more on Hardfork-21, BUT HARDFORK 22, and yes it happened, but before you think SMT's are available like right now.. NO! they are not, basically there was a issue that had been discovered which was preventing delegations from functioning properly. Now you may think this is no big deal but it sure was a problem for those who are new to Steem especially. This was because Steemit cannot delegate to new accounts, if you didn't know new accounts get a delegation from Steemit to get them started, the issue was again discovered due to only big Steem account Power holders not being able to delegate, haha the whales keep stepping on all the bugs. Anyway so that means the Steemit accounts couldn't delegate SP to those new and so leaving them enabled to do anything on the blockchain. The problem also goes much deeper than just that but I'am sure you understand how this can already be problematic. And so the solution was to quickly Fork again to revolve the problem. And so here we are Hardfork 22 already but minus the SMT's. Also Steem went down yet again leaving us for many hours even day's without the use of voting or posting. The blockchain halted this time round due to a bug in the curations reward curve lucky the team were able to develop a patch which did not necessitate another hardfork. But what I will say is this problem as caused issues for the exchanges some of us still can't trade Steem. Anyway as for the actual bug it was incredibly difficult detect even with it's insane out come "you guys are going to love this.." so the bug resulted in some weird curation reward weight like of -1 which resulted in a computed value of 2^64 - 1 which means when paid out these votes would be tempting to receive trillions in Steem!! Imagine that! Obviously this kind of behaviour would prompt a safety catch to stop it from happening but in the end I'am just very happy the blockchain is back up and running, now please some stability is what I hope.
