Is Steemit the Pursuit of Excellence?

Does Steemit foster excellence in people?

Steemit comes at a time when social media is absent of certain things until now, things that matter. Things like:

  • Authenticity.

  • Values.

  • Confirmation.

Steemit is much, much more than that in the context of each person behind each account, but with these three foundations of Steemit content being understood, anything you add on top of them will have no limits. And you are in control of these things!

Just like it is in life itself.

Steemit forces you to focus on YOU. Maybe you're not used to objectively viewing yourself. You have to decide what you have to offer. You have to make an effort to engage with not just "friends", but the whole world. You have to define yourself in order to do so. You have to be fine with who you are. Just be you in life, and just be you here, but know who you are and be comfortable with who you are.

If you are having trouble participating on Steemit in the many ways that you can immerse yourself in the technology, the social communication, the learning and sharing of information, and personal identification roadblocks that may be stifling your ability to contribute, just keep it simple and ask yourself with a clean slate:

What is my excellence?

Every time you come up with an answer to that question, post about it. We'd all love to hear from you. Steemit will then be the place where anyone can find a ledger of everything that makes you authentic, full of value, and confirms it undeniably. That answer can be in words, images, video, all of the above, or something else altogether.

Your excellence will be on the blockchain, and it will be free of mediocrity.

As always, I'm looking forward to meeting all the excellent people who have taken the step to join Steemit and share small, bright, shining examples of themselves openly. I hope this helps some of you who have been paralyzed from being unsure about how to get started here or simply continuing on Steemit because you need to be reminded of its purpose that got you excited to join in the first place.

Sort:

I've been here for all of two days but what I've seen is a lot of people clogging topics with unrelated, copy and pasted, uselessness. I agree that their is authenticity on this platform, and people are expressing themselves. However, I also see a lot of people just trying to make a quick buck. The incentive of being paid for what you post is awesome, and it pushes people to bring their best work. But it also comes with people who couldn't give a shit about excellence and accountability. I'd love to hear what you have to think. :)

Sounds like a reflection of life anywhere. The original, authentic, real, and valuable lead the way while the remaining masses of laziness clutter the rest of every domain, eventually fading into obscurity. Having only been here two days, I hope that all your posts begin with a standard of personal excellence so both you and I don't have to think about all those useless contributions.
