7 Ways on How to NOT be Successful at Steemit
A few ways that I would Advise Against if You want to have some Success Here at Steemit.com
- Please do NOT ask for someone to Follow you
- Please do NOT say "I upvoted you so please upvote me back"
- Please do NOT put affiliate links in your blog posts
- Please do NOT use 'one or two word' Comments like "nice post". Or "good job"
- Please do NOT strictly use memes and nothing else. Learn how to write or vlog with some decent Content
- Please do NOT Post 9 one or two sentence blog Posts EVERYDAY !!
- Please do NOT just patronize and focus your attention on whales and dolphins but include minnows as well. :)
Conclusion...
I have found you can build up a decent Following by just leaving thoughtful and well written Comments at other Steemians' blogs. And creating one to three high quality blog posts a day is fine. Think Quality and NOT Quantity. Is all this easy to do ? Of course not. But most everything that is worthwhile in this World never is ;)

Good common sense advice, Rob. I ignore someone who types follow me and I will follow you or vote for vote. I can see how it can be appealing to newbies hoping to build up followers.
This is very true sir. I advise people the same thing. The best way to grow is build a good relationship with people and in discord groups. It will get to a point that your name some how will flash their minds.

good points, think when people over do it and spread themselves out too thin it makes people annoyed with the five or six posts a day because it reeks of hustlin' desperation
It's also, all about commenting, connecting, and building relationships
the successful peeps are good at that, not only creating posts.

Great points for making a good steemian. It boils down to observing a proper blogging ethics.
don't know how you have the time for THREE quality posts per day.
I usually just do two. But my point is do not do like 5 or 6 low quality ones. There is a pretty decent amount of Steemians I know of who do 3 high quality blog posts per day. It can be done.
