Would You Pay for Exclusive Content? [Paying Writers on Decentralized Platforms][SteemitMarketplace]

With the rise of free subscriber-based content such as podcasts, Youtube and of course, Steemit, there comes a time where some people want an edge over others.

You get what you pay for.

I'm playing with the idea that regular, dedicated readers of any of my sagas ought to be getting something special that casual drop-ins may have taken for granted.

Early or exclusive content.

I am currently issues ahead in The Coroner and it is only just getting exciting. How would you feel about getting the exclusive opportunity to ask specific questions about characters and their motivations, sneak peeks at upcoming releases or even "hidden" story arcs that the regular upvoting public may never see?

Whether you're interested in the thriller/ mystery of The Coroner or the fantasy realm of Adventures in Elowyn Glade, there's a real possibility to go a lot further here.

How much is reasonable and where would we be able to access the content?

To be honest, something is only worth what others are willing to pay for it. I wrote an article about one of my favourite restaurants in Newtown called Lentil as Anything that doesn't charge for their food. You pay what you think it is worth. Many people pay the recommended price, others don't pay at all (maybe they don't have the ability to - think of the homeless, here). Others, who are more financially capable go above what someone would consider reasonable and pay far more than required.

The point is, everyone still eats and the business can pay it's bills.

Even if you're not a member of Steemit, all this content is free. If you are, so much the better. You can upvote.

If you're an upvoter and you're saddened that your upvote is only worth 2 SBC (Steem Backed Cents), but you want to give more, why not?

You may have made a few bucks on a post a few days ago and want to actually spend it within the platform you earned it on!

Shit, wouldn't that be novel!

Everything is linked, you can see the product and what it is worth. Go check it all out. My ultimate goal is to write full-time. No job. Just this. I want to curl your hair and twist your ears with tales you wish you had never heard.

I'm up for discussion. How could this work? Send a minimum 1 or 2 SBD per week or month (or a one off) to my wallet with your email address in the description? That could work.

In the meantime, nothing changes. The writing still happens.

I'll still keep sharing the stories, the reviews and the travel adventures. Maybe there isn't a soul willing to pay extra (above the value of their upvote) for a story that only a select few will see. To be honest, it's not the best situation. But of course, the writing will persist.

I do have the non-paying public to impress. And it's all ad free. You're welcome.

All the best,

Nick.
