Dear Steemit, it is rude to send me unsolicited links to your posts to vote on via Steemit chat
If I don't know you, if we haven't chatted, then just sending me links to your steemit posts via DM on Steemit chat is pretty rude, especially if it's done without so much of "Hi @neoxian, how are you?"
You know, the basic rules of life don't change just because you are on the internet or on Steemit. Why is this hard to figure out?
If it's rude in real life, then chances are, it's rude on the internet too (and Steemit is no exception.)
Teaching people Life 101.....
I agree. It's bad etiquette. On the flip side though it can be very difficult for new users to get noticed... I usually have a little understanding the first time but it can get old fast.
It's pretty easy to get my attention in Steemit. Just make comments on my posts.
Haha yes, that works too! :)
Ya, that would definitely get annoying fast.
Very well said, good post @neoxian
I don't vote on posts people send to me like that. Even if I like them. I completely understand how you feel.
I agree with you...
Now onto the silver lining...
You must be steemit famous or something. ;)
Yea I'm Steemfamous.
LOL. I am learning in 2 posts you have a good sense of humour and down to earth blue collar-ness.
Beaut.
LOLZ
LOL...I actually came here to post a link in your comment section! Not even kidding. Although, I do know you, and it's not about me, haha! @nonameslefttouse has been missing for three weeks after posting every day for five months. And since today is steemit's birthday, I wanted to include him in it. But mostly I want people to comment on it, letting him know he's missed. I want that comment section filled, LOL. So irony of ironies, here is a link (would really appreciate it) https://steemit.com/nonameslefttouse/@dreemit/happy-birthday-steemit-but-where-the-usd-is-nonameslefttouse
Oh, it's fine. We've chatted before and I know you a bit.
Fully agree with you!
When sending a chat message, at least explain why you are sending the message. Better explain well, than just a "Hi, can you vote blablabla". IMHO, no turbo talk, but better a good explanation.
Would it be possible to configure Steem.Chat to require the recipient to first have to allow someone else to chat, before a chat message is actually dropped in your inbox? Like with FB and the friends request feature. That keeps people out you don't want to chat with for whatever reason.
You got a very valid point but I don't feel it's such a big thing when members try to get in touch, sending their links. I can take it even though some people can be a bit annoying but there is still the option to simply ignore them. Autoresponse might be very helpful 😜 May I ask if you are some kind of celebrity?
Only a steemelebrity.
That's a super cute name I like 💫
LOL! the hits keep on coming in this post!
This is funny ! Are you so big in Steemit ? How many texts you get per day ?
Don't be obligated to answer me .
I'm not that big, and it's not that many, but it's been enough to be annoying.
Truth.
Always remember, now I have realized you have some SP....... it sort of comes w the territory to some extent, people hope to make a bit on here.... you are seeing things from the whale-ish perspective with a bunch of vote - tossing, mortgage-paying power.
Paris Hiltons of Steemit
hahahahahaha
j/k. Have a good nite man.
Thanks for answer . Every day at my shop come hundreds of people , with problems , wishes etc .... here is same - just online . Don't get upset over this , and have a nice day .
I'm not a shop, I'm a person. If I were selling my votes, that would be a different story. Hmm, selling my votes, there's an idea....
Haha good idea 70 / 30 % maybe ?
I agree. It just seems to be the way of the internet, and society, to be getting more rude. Its getting just ridiculous on YouTube as well!
