Lol, wut? Every DPoS chain can do that. Steem certainly wasn't the first. Bitshares might have been, but even that's a pretty serious claim...

Wait a minute, did I read this part of the article wrong?

Is the claim being made here that while every Steem hardfork has never resulted in an additional chain having been spun off alongside it, that all other blockchains have never had at least one hardfork that did so by design?

Still hard-to-believe, but more probable - not that I'm in any position to question any of this anyways... but I am curious.
