LET'S KEEP IMPROVING STEEMIT, OUR FAVORITE SOCIAL MEDIA SITE... (RE-POSTING FROM TWO MONTHS AGO)
Steemit is the miracle of Social Media. What the living generations always wanted is finally here.
As we all enjoy the benefits of this great social media platform, we need to start asking ourselves how can we improve it and how can we sort of protecting it from trashy and meaningless content, or unnecessary data that will only clog the network to slow it down and will also increase the risk of driving good STEEMIANS out of the Steemit Media page.
We as responsible steemians need to take solid steps to protect one another from all these potential factors.
I would love to see the banning of the SWEARING and CURSING in the REPLY box. Since the content of each article is in most times an original idea, It is totally unfair for people to use profanity when they disagree with the content; it is ok to disagree but is not ok to be nasty when you do it.
I'm not familiar with the STEEMIT policy on the usage of nudity exposure, profanity and other rated "R" material, all I know that there might be kids under age looking at this media page and all I'm saying that we need to take precautionary steps for not exposing our kids to our irresponsible behavior.
In other words; think before you post or comment on a post, we can all just be writing or replying to a minor and may just not know it.
Steemit should be a place for everyone and everyone should feel welcome and free to post as they like but everything must be done within the unwritten moral responsibility of respecting each other.
This is what I would do to improve this page. We all need to come up with an idea to make STEEMIT better, this will implicate the moderators to watch out for this content or the developers to somehow solve this issue algorithmically.
As you all know, FaceBook has faced huge legal problems, and many people had abandoned their platform following the irresponsible behavior if its users and the lack of supervision from the people in charge of its content.
Let's prevent for this to happen to our great STEEMIT page, let's protect it and keep improving it!

why the repost? have you been seeing more profanity etc then before?
because to be honest i have to say in my opinion Steemit seems reasonably clean
there isn't much here that would offend me (then again I'm not easily offended)
I myself refrain from using foul language in posts because you can bring across what you want in different ways that are usually more entertaining...

My point you know is that you don't know who is on the other side of the monitor; it can be an elder, a handicap, a maniac, a minor, a whatever, we still have to remain respectful to one-another considering these scenarios.
It really doesn't hurt anybody if we respect each other.
