Why is Dan receiving $$$ for sharing official announcements of Steemit?

Steemit Releases Groundbreaking Account Recovery Solution = 8859$ ?? Seriously, why is DAN as a founder of steemit getting paid for internal announcements?

Everybody is focused on the Whales. Everybody is following the whales. Everybody is trying to get the attention of a whale. So if a whale like DAN posts something , it will almost always earn 1000-10.000$ ( i voted for @DAN posts too)

The real problem i am seeing is, that so many people are complaining not earning on Steemit. Probably the content these people are providing is not sexy, not good enough yet to make tons of money. But in the longrun, if an admin/ employee/ founder of Steemit takes away the limited supply of Steem and SP from the platform, it will harm the platform, as that one guy who might have earned 5000$ and would be locked in for life only did earn less, eventually leaving the steemit platform.

I think i am living and blogging proof, that the lock in of steemits works, check this post and check my Wallet, does that look like real commitment?

I am in, probably for life (if the steemit platform survives that long), so i am thinking everyday what could improve steemit and why we need to discuss these things.

My suggestion is, that official annoucements should earn votes, but no $$$

Maybe this will get me a huge downvote from a couple of whales, but if you agree UPVOTE !!!

I'll agree but I'm not giving you a huge upvote either. I don't think official announcements or progress post should take a huge portion of the reward pool but I also don't think your posts should for questioning it.

Let's leave the reward pool for people who actually post interesting, entertaining, enlightening and inspiring content and stop draining it with a continual a circle jerk of steemit posts about steemit itself.

ok, so i thought this through again. the steemit team opinion on this, is the same with mine. the proof is, that as you said they already have implemented that admin annoucement category.
so they are aware of the problem. but it still proves my point.

and about you not giving a vote, i agree that it might go to people with more original content, but i am thinking 24/7 about steemit, and coming up with something, which starts a huge discussions, while going out of our comfort zone should be rewarded too.

so i still say, if you agree VOTE UP!

I'm glad to see you're giving back crit as to why or why not you vote. Thank you Smooth.

yes, great to see. just checked smooth wallet... OMG. so i fully understand the part of the huge upvote ;) not giving . even if he might agree ;)

hi smooth,

its totally ok for me you not upvoting my post. i even gave you 30cents upvoting your post.

if i had a way to directly message DAN, i would have gone that way. but i think i reached the thing i wanted, a discussion in the community. and i hope many more people vote or leave a comment !!!

agreeed - currently it's PITA to filter a good post within this flood of tag spammed #introduce-steemit circle jerks.

A strangely passive agressive post for a valuable and important question.

My suggestion is, that official annoucements should earn votes, but no $$$

I really like this approach - why not making announcement posts getting a custom internal tag like #ann #ann-official and then getting complete rewards paid out as SP not splitted or something.

Let me spin my head around more, but i really like the idea!

A feature to do exactly this was implemented in one of the previous hard forks but it isn't being used.

ah ok didn't know it was just implemented - ok then we should start using it .. :/

Add: but also this would be not fair to the other community members, so also not a good idea, when thinking more about.

thanks cass. yes a official tag would be a great idea !!.
but if everybody could use that tag, it would not work.

i would not have a problem if for example steemit itself posted these kind of things, and they used the money they earn in emergency situations. remember the last hack? they paid back all funds to the people which was a great thing to do!!!

smooth, thats a great information! maybe i should have digged deeper into this before making this post.
another upvote for you.

could you please let me know, where i can get that information?

Is it so bad that they get paid for using the system. Isn't the power of steem that every message gets paid according to the same algorithm?

yes but his message receives more as he has Steem Power for 1.000.000 USD..

Thanks for the post!!

This article very anxious.

it should be. i hope we can discuss about this issue !

thanks for the input :0 )
do you have a bit more detailed insights you could share?

If a man build his home with his own bare hands , can we be mad (not saying you are) at him for sleeping inside.

i respect your opinion, but if we follow your argument, INSIDER TRADING should be allowed.

Dan will be a Billionaire soon, so i am pretty sure he does not care about that peanuts he is receiving.

I think that he never tough about it the way i just posted it, so if he read it, he might just change the way posting internal annoucements of steemit.

Insider trading is not bad as we all think. There is nothing wrong with a guy named "Dan" becoming a billionaire.

Mr knozaki,
We are human, he shouldn't change the way he operates because of you or I, If he wants to pick fruit from his own tree we shouldn't complain.

Everyone who contributes to building the network can get paid, at the whim of the stakeholding community. Why should we not be allowed to reward those already heavily invested in it?

yes, i a agree.
But if a founder is posting INTERNAL information, that should not earn money. thats INSIDER INFORMATION.

so maybe just post it as a sticky which sometimes appear on the site.

and the question is easy, because if DAN posts something, that post will instantly have 500 $ through his own vote, so the fact its already at 500$ and everybody votes it up, it guaranteed that his post will always earn money, which needs to be paid out to writer contributing to the network/ steemit , i dont see a internal announcement as contributing to the network, if it comes from an employee !!

But lets wait and see, how the whole community votes and whats the standpoint on that issue

Yeah it seems to make more cents to have announcements not dilute the payouts. Also https://steemit.com/steemit/@iamwne/steemit-posting-report

hi interesting your post. do you know if comments count as post too? because if they did i just shot myself in the knee posting so many comments here :)

They don't count, no.

Thanks for answering that.

thanks for the vote. but it seems your post is stolen from that other guy?
are you a bot?

It's crazy for sure.

Why is Dan receiving $$$ for sharing official announcements of Steemit?

Well, he could give away his earnings to charity or you can ask whales to not upvote official steem announcements :-) No other way around as this is how things work here on steemit. Posters always get money .

A feature to do exactly this was implemented in one of the previous hard forks but it isn't being used.
smooth just posted this in comments, the team of steemit already seems to have thought of that issue! kudos, amazing that they even thought about that problem.
