Free Windows 10 upgrade

in #steemit8 years ago

We all know that exactly a year after the release of each user whose device has been installed a licensed Windows 7/8.1, completely free to update to the new operating system Windows 10 from Microsoft. And July 29, 2016 has passed and all the time of free updates left. But it turned out not so bad for those who for some reason did not have time to upgrade to Windows 10. Today I want to tell you about at least three legitimate ways to update even after the ban.

Method № 1. If you have already updated to Windows 10, then fell back to a previous version, but now changed my mind

The method is very simple and understandable for everyone. I have  already written, and recently he learned from personal experience that  if you ever updated your device to Windows 10, the license is tied to  your hardware forever. No matter whether you rolled back to a previous  version, for example, Windows 7 or even after the updates had completely  installed then Windows 7 license on Windows 10 for your device is  maintained.

However, have to do a clean install from a flash drive (I already wrote about this), and the requirements of the input key, you just skip. On your device still installed licensed operating system of new generation Windows 10. All because you got a digital license and no matter how many times will need to reinstall the system, still it will be licensed.

The same aspect applies to the change PC configurations. In practice, saw how to change different components of the device, he even recently changed HDD to SSD, but the license when you install Windows 10 still remained. Not sure only be maintained if it is when changing motherboard or processor. Maybe you have had this experience? Share.

Method № 2. Change date on PC *

As you might guess from the subtitle, this method involves a simple change of date on your device. Then in the bottom right corner click the Windows icon 10, which was run before upgrading to a new operating system, you will see that is still running the countdown, which was launched by Microsoft recently.

If your watch has at least a couple seconds, the update process of your device can be safely run. After some time the update is complete and you will get the new OS Windows 10. That is all as to 29 July 2016. About this method I learned on one of Internet resources, there's even a video to watch :

Microsoft’s free Windows 10 upgrade offer officially ended yesterday. However, the company has left a loophole. If you need to use assistive technologies, you can still upgrade for free. Microsoft also isn’t verifying if you do.

According to a tucked-away page on Microsoft’s site, users who need accessibility features can still choose to upgrade for free for an undetermined amount of time. To sign up for the free upgrade, you simply have to check a box that says you use assistive technologies, and Microsoft doesn’t seem to be verifying the claim at all so it may work even for typical users who missed the deadline.

Microsoft may rescind or modify the offer at any time, so if you want to upgrade to Windows 10 and don’t want to pay, you should probably check this out as soon as possible. To get started, head to the source link below and click Upgrade Now.

Update: Microsoft delivered a statement to ZDNet stating that this tool is not designed to be a workaround for users who don’t use assistive technology and missed the deadline. However, there’s no indication on exactly how or if Microsoft verifies that an upgrader uses assistive tools.

* You have to remember can go something wrong. If you are not confident in their abilities and knowledge, it is better not even need to proceed to this method. However, while it is not clear how long it will work this stunt and can it lead to loss of license. I have not had the chance to try it.

Method № 3. Windows 10 for users with disabilities

Just yesterday one of the friends asked me to help him upgrade the  laptop to Windows 10. He just forgot that you can update for free. I had  to explain to him that was over the period of free updates, and now  only charge you updated. I asked him to try this method. Tell us briefly  about it.

That people with disabilities use special equipment, will be free to upgrade to Windows 10 after 29 July 2016, has long been known. However, few have paid much attention, but in vain. It turned out that it is very simple and, most importantly, completely legal way to upgrade to Windows 10.

Microsoft is even a special website for this update were created. Here is the link to it: https://www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/accessibility/windows10upgrade

You get the text about why for people with disabilities the renewal date will be indefinite. It is here that I tip my hat to the sensitivity of the company. After taking care of these people speaks of the humanity of the company.

We just upgraded the laptop of a friend and nothing operating system is not different from the usual. That is the way it is working and legal: you get the licensed version of Windows 10. How long is this going to be available to all — it is an open question.

Who needs it?

The question some of you definitely hurts as there has been much debate about how and whether all updated. All of these methods are needed for those who simply do not have time, did not know or forgot to upgrade to Windows 10, but wants still to do. They will also be useful to those who after 29 July 2016, will buy the device on Windows 7/8.1 and want to upgrade to the new operating system Windows 10. Something tells me that very soon the device on Windows 7/8.1 little fall in price, as they will not be in demand. The buyer always wants it the device runs on the new OS. And for stores that sell PC, laptops and tablets, it is a chance to sell more expensive obsolete device if they haven't had time to update them. And of course it's nice that Microsoft cares about people with disabilities and provides them with an unlimited period to update their device.

Anniversary Update

From 2 August 2016, Microsoft plans to start distributing the first major update Windows 10 Anniversary Update. I'd like to give users some tips to avoid problems with installing updates. Note that before upgrading the system will back up all your files on the system drive. So before installing be sure to clean the system disk using the system utility disk Cleanup but make sure you clean up system files and, if necessary, uninstall previous versions of the OS. Thereby release the disk.

If your device is running Windows 10 Pro, you can either wait, or start the process manually. The reason is that the update will be great and you will need to have a good Internet connection. I highly recommend downloading and installing the update to connect the device to the network so as not to interrupt the upgrade process and not cause crashing or errors. Also, disconnect all other devices: speakers, USB flash drives, memory cards and more from your laptop. They can be also the reason for a failed upgrade.

If bugs or crashes occurs, do not panic and do not try to fix it. Just cancel the update and after some time start it again. Enjoy all the updates.
