DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST
Text: I Timothy 6:11-12
11: But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.12: Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
TOPIC: PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS
Paul warns against false teachers who think godliness is a means of making money (vv 3-10). In this text, he charged Timothy to: (i). Be true to his Christian calling. (ii). Keep clear of such ensnaring things. (iii). Sustain the pursuit of Christian virtues as he fights the good fight of faith. (iv). Maintain the contest Worthily to the end and gain the prize of eternal life. Today, so-called men of God employ dubious means and rob their hearers of the truth. For them, wealth is the ultimate and the evidence of righteous living while suffering is a curse. Beloved in Christ, the pursuance of Christian virtues with contentment is far better. This will distinguish you from these counterfeit men of God and lead you to true riches and heavenly bliss. Which are you, counterfeit or genuine? Remember, you can pursue righteousness and still be wealthy!
