Successfully Building a Business From the Ground Up: Part 1
With the rising costs of college tuition and the mounting amount of student loan debt, many people are looking to make money in other ways so starting a business is a logical idea for those of us looking for something more than the typical 9-5 job.
But, how you go about building a successful business if you’ve never done it before?
Identify a potential problem
Every successful business owner has identified a problem in the marketplace that means a lot to them and worked to find a workable solution. And choosing an industry that you are passionate about will help you to want to work through any challenges that arise. Identify a problem that you have a conviction about!
Recognize that you may have to make sacrifices
Running a business is not the typical 9-5 so the hours can be unusual depending on when your customers are available. Sometimes, you may need to make some sacrifices of time or effort on days when you may not want to. But, its worth it because you have a much higher earning potential and can work for yourself while making your own schedule.
Build a brand that you believe in
The most powerful lesson that I have learned over years of starting businesses is about branding and believing in your purpose because sometimes you will hit road bumps. Branding will allow customers to identify your business from possible competitors and will keep them coming back to you if you have done your job properly.
Aim for consistent improvement
Each day is a new opportunity to improve upon the foundation that you have already built. Striving for small improvements every day will help your business flourish and give a sense of accomplishment to you without the need to feel overwhelmed by making too many changes too quickly.
Prepare for imitation
If you do your job right when building a business, you will come across people that will imitate some part of your business model. The key to staying ahead of the imitators is to be constantly innovating and keeping in touch with your customers for feedback on how you can make improvements.
Successfully building a business can be a challenging and rewarding experience no matter how many times you have started a business or your level of experience! According to Small Biz Trends:
• 69% of US entrepreneurs start a business from home.
• 51% of those asked the question “What’s the best way to learn more about entrepreneurship?” gave an answer of “Start a business.”
Starting a business on Steemit is free and only requires your time and effort! The opportunity presented here is just fantastic, especially since there are so many talented people in the community that are willing to advise.
