AN IDEA FOR STEEMIT USERS TO FURTHER MONETIZE THEIR ACCOUNTS
There are no ads on Steemit. So is there not an opportunity to allow members to monetize their accounts and posts by adding Adsense ads.
Here is how it would work
Under settings you would have an ads section where you can add your Adsense publisher ID. When you do this, ads above and below appear on your posts and profile.
Any clicks are then credited to your Adsense account so earning you more money. I know this is already something that you can do on Ibotoolbox
Positives
Having our own ads associated with our accounts encourages members to drive traffic to their posts outside of Steemit. Steemit gets better known which should result in our accounts ultimately becoming more valuable.
Downside
We have ads on our pages. But are we not used to seeing ads on pages we visit. Its not a big deal, right?

I hope you realize that many people in crypto truly despise how google and Facebook leech and sell user data for ads.
Every bit may help but we aren’t whores. Every bit helps will just result in a billboard of everything. You can do that on tumblr or with a self-hosted blog. Then also implement revresponse or content.ad while you’re at it. Maybe also chikita.
Because every bit helps.
You know what helps? Quality content. Then there’s no butthurt over ad blockers either.

Most of the people I've spoken to are pretty adamant they do not want adds on Steemit. The general consensus is "If you want adds spewed all over your account, go to Facebook."
Of course, Facebook doesn't pay you for what you contribute so it's a kind of dead-end argument.

Thank you. The argument for though is more money for users as they are their own ads. We are all interested in monetization so a second income stream makes sense? It would be an opt-in scheme cause obviously you would need an Adsense account.
Would be a good option for charities on Steemit as every little helps @papillon

STOPThere are other ways how to make cash on Steemit, and there are numerous alternative social networks that use a completely different approaches than for example the Facebook and Google.
You can easily install the Adsense on your blogs and /or other blogging platforms and earn in that way.
There is no reason to limit your reach because this or that, just use teh best fitted approach for your needs.
The thing si that Steemit is a complete opposite to Adsense so there is no need to mix them at all.
