My View on Universal Basic Income
In my View it all depend on the culture the receiver grow up at . Take me for example , i receive allowance from the welfare department due to my leg n back problem . But i understand that the allowance is mean to help me a bit in my financial burden or to give me more time to develop . With this understanding , i manage to create a business and self-sustain even have my own youtube channel . Now i am not longer qualify for this financial aid . Most people who receive this financial aid keep saying not enough but yet for me i manage to grow big .
Culture or the value the person learn will decide if he/she successful or not , not the money that decide if he/she can success or not . You can give one person 1 million dollar and he/she will finish it in 24 hour .
Base on the current situation , i don't think everyone is ready for it until they learn certain value . Perhaps when implement it ,the receiver need to understand that this basic income are just to cover the basic . If they want more, they need to contribute more to the society even sweeping the floor can be a contribution .
People who are dependent on handouts generally aren't as driven as you are. Creating dependancy is a bad idea, Universal Basic Income is definetely anticapitalism.
One thing I do like about universal basic income is that it saves money on administration. Just writing everyone a cheque is much easier than dealing with various welfare programs, universal insurance programs, credits, deductions etc. The money saved can be just passed back to everyone through Universal Basic Income. It just has to be low enough so it doesn't promote dependancy

Good Job @hooiyewlim! You're right, we cannot rely on what we currently have, as in no longer time, everything we have will be gone. Either we get old and cannot work anymore, or like yours that financial support is just an aid to support maybe your medication. You did a good job on not relying on your support, rather you use it to start a normal living and sustain it by your own.
