My Two Cents!👍

I've made it! It's happened, and it feels so good to reach a goal!

I've had a really lovely weekend so far! @freedompoint and I have been able to spend a lot of great quality time with my parents and family. After an exhausting night out eating pizza and playing Top Golf we crashed hard!

The dogs woke me up way too early to be let outside, and I dragged myself out of bed, leaving a snoring Yeti behind. I was pleasantly
surprised to see my Dad hanging out with sleepy eyes too, and we sat next to each other on the couch playing on our phones.

Once my eyes opened up properly, I jumped onto my feed and found a great post written by @michelle.gent. You can find it here, Remove Competition From Competitions. When I finished I scrolled to the bottom and found my good friend @cecicastor had already been there and had written a great comment, so naturally I commented under, and then I upvoted her comment...and found a surprise!

Let me give just a bit of backstory we can all relate to.

When I first joined Steemit, I was squealy excited everytime my steem power would go up, and I couldn't wait to see that my vote had tangibly changed someone's payout...even if it was only a penny.

Well, that day came and it was just as sweet as I thought it would be.

Then the price of Steem started to flucuate. Ok, it was a steady decline until it hit about a $1.90...then it began fluctuate, but my power continued to grow, thanks to the great people who upvote me, so I was able maintain my one cent vote.

I think, we can all agree that one week on Steemit is the equilvilent to one month in real time, so after about 3 months, or the emotional equivalent of one year, of tracking my voting power on steemnow.com everytime I powered up on steemnow.com, and it never changing, I started to feel just like I did in December. I began to wonder when I would make it to $0.02, and just how much Steem Power was I going to have to accumlate to make something happen.

Now, if you've been watching, the price of Steem has gone up a bit the last few days...which has added to how wonderful these past few weeks have been for us. So, after I voted on @cecicastor's comment...I couldn't believe that I had given her two cents instead of one!

Once I saw this, my eyes lit up, I laughed for joy...then I tried to explain to my Dad why I was so happy. We've talked in length with my parents about Steemit, in fact they were visiting the first time @freedompoint's post hit the trending list and he had his first big payout, so he understood why this was an exciting moment for me. I also couldn't wait for the hubs to wake up so I could share the great news with him!

So, this is what I know. When everyone says be patient and work hard...whatever working hard means to you...do it! Once you're able to meet a goal, no matter how long it took, it will feel glorious!
