thanks for this! Very useful info and also very interesting to think about.. i auto-voted you.. but I also read your posts.. so that is good! I have noticed that many of the big trails provide zero engagement .. which is not so nice.. and can be especially weird for people who dont understand why they got 100 votes and no comments!

I think the system is pretty good, so long as the posts that do get autovoted are by in large GOOD posts.. From what I have seen, that is the case.. but not always of course!

Im not sure if this can really be stopped, other than by radical changes in a new HF.

Personally I would like to see the curation 'win zone' be extended far beyond 30 minutes.. it is virtually impossible to read a good post and even know if an upvote is deserved or not in that timeframe.

One thought that crosses my mind relating to preventing voting abuse.. would be to have the 'win-zone' timing vary! This would mean that auto voting could be less profitable since a post might have more rewards after 30 minutes or before 15 minutes.. This variance could be totally random, just to throw off auto-voting a bit.. or could be related to the length of the post, and the number of voters etc.. THis might help shift the balance of success back to manual voting, which I agree is the best way to go.
