What I've Been Up To Lately: Writing Fiction. Specifically, Science Fiction

in #steemit5 years ago

Some of you asked me why I post less and I appreciate your care. I really do.

There is more than one reason for that, obviously, and I may write a more complete post about this later on, but among these reasons there is one that has quite a relevance: I decided to write a Sci-Fi novel. Hence, I wrote more in private than in public.

It's my first attempt at writing fiction in English, but I do have more than 10 non-fiction books published on Amazon, so language shouldn't be a problem. Shouldn't be. The only one deciding that will be, obviously, the reader, not me.

To make a long story short, after 2 and a half months of on and off work on this, my 85 pages short novel is up and ready for sale on Amazon. It's called "The World, Dripping (All you need is attention)" and you can get the Kindle version for only $2.99. If you happen to buy it and read it, I would appreciate an honest review.

Until then, I decided to publish here the first 4 chapters (out of the total 16) just to give you a glimpse of what's all about.

So, starting tomorrow, until the end of the week, prepare to read one chapter per day, every day.

Steem on!

That's great. I will read the first four chapters with joy and curiosity.

What tools do you need to publish an ebook on Amazon?

Thanks, mate! If you happen to buy it, I would appreciate an honest review.

You don't need any tool for that. All you need is a PDF / eBook file and that's it. They have online tools for making decent covers, so that's covered. The process improved drastically compared with what it was 8 years ago, when I published my first book there. Time flies... :)

I will, in the next days. I've read the first chapter. I like the assumptions in the technological advancement you are making. I don't like the sociological implications but that's the gist of it, isn't it? :)

Thanks for the answer. So the PDF will do, great.

Seems like a good way to spend time :)

My feed has been pretty quiet lately anyway so I've just been hoping/assuming everyone is busy having a good life.

Very good idea man!
