Great write up Jerry. Being at Witness is certainly competitive. One of the reasons I decided not to become a witness for the time being is because there is a low percentage chance of breaking into the top 20 or even the top 40 for that matter. The ones at the top are very skilled and often they have pretty fat Steem wallets.
