The ultimate fraud and scam I have ever seen!

in #steemit6 years ago

You probably by now have seen the commercials Experian pushes about "Dark Web scanning". They claim to help protect you from people selling your information on the "dark web" by pre-scanning it. Two things are fraudulent about this claim:

  1. In order for you to know WHAT is on the dark web you have to be on it yourself.. Criminals who steal your personal information SELL it. They don't give it away for free... This implies that Experian LITERALLY is admitting to paying criminals for ILLEGAL data... They are admitting to MULTIPLE felonies publicly and no one seems to care!

  2. Even if you get past 1, what makes you think EVERY hacker has sold the information to people? What if they want to use it themselves? Access a database of an accountant with 10k high net worth people and you can do plenty of damage!

The point is Experian is a SCAM! And committing FELONIES and should be brought up on charges for at least sponsoring the theft..

WHY is a public corporation like Experian allowed to use shady tactics and buy ILLEGAL data from dark web sources and get away with it? THEY are the #1 customer for the data they claim to be protecting! What a great scam! Steal your customer's data then blackmail them into paying you for protection.

I take it back, we should also sue them for racketeering! They are worse than fraudulent, they are seeking to profit off fear they create through deception by getting the average person to believe their hoax. THEY stole and/or PAID for the data that you are worried about, THEN charge you to let you know if it was stolen? HOW is that not a fraudulent crime? Do you pay someone to commit crimes for you then claim you are just monitoring for the behavior? NO that is still a crime! WHY is Experian and others allowed to do this and not be charged? They violate our rights and have access to ILLEGAL data that they ADMIT they paid for and/or HACKED themselves.. Yet they now want us to pay THEM to not release it and "protect" us... THIS IS FRAUD!!!!

Could you please post the URL to the commercial?
I'm curious to see the scam as it is... thank you, @bigdeej!

EDIT
I think I found it simply googling "commercials Experian"... I do not need the URL anymore! ;)

Ha yeah it is super easy to find, they are pushing it like crazy! I can't believe anyone actually buys into this nonsense! Scan the dark web?!?! Good luck doing that legally!

Just incase anyone is interested here is the ad:

I saw the commercial and instantly thought what a B.S too!

Especially when things like cryptography and keys could easily replace the out dated SSN system. Imagine if instead you had a private key issued and signed every request.. Someone would have to steal your key to impersonate you, not just get access to a record you filed. Each request would be a TX and signed... This is all very simple stuff they just profit off the theft!

I like your post.
it is so good...
