While that would be great for the financial component of steemit, the quality of posts that might generate thousands of dollars with just a picture may discourage people who spend time creating vlogs or thoughtfully compose articles. It will happen, but hopefully on this platform users will will value thought provoking and engaging or educational content over selfies and fluff from celebrities who already get paid millions to endorse products they may or may not actually use. The current waiting list on new users has me believing an update will roll out and a mass influx of new users will join. But people have the rights to vote however they want so some of that content will be left up to the whales and the direction they want to take it along with everyone else.
