Quantity vs quality
I have found quantity of great old posts that got completely lost on the community when it was released and I feel it's unfair that they can't receive steems if their post is older than 30days. It incentivizes people to release a lot of posts in order to have a chance to get noticed. This is obviously detrimental to the quality of the average posts. Also it might discourage people spending time to write great posts to continue using the platform.
Relevance
I spend a lot more time searching for posts about a specific subjects rather than just looking at the current wall of posts. Consequently, most of the time I read posts that are older but at the same time a lot more relevant to my needs and it's a shame that my vote will not compensate the writers for their efforts.
Immediacy vs long term
We live in a world where immediacy is king, slowing things a bit would benefit the community to focus on richer contents that have longer term value rather than easy read easy forgotten posts or at least find a good balance between both.

Good point. But your old post bring values to your followers.
I make posts about drug free living and my followers can search back old articles as i write New ones.

Thank you, that's true, it has value for the followers, it's not all about money but a little money enables the writers to make a living and to continue writing good articles. Thumbs up for writing about living a drug free life, it's really important and I hope you can be an example for a lot of people.
This is a topic i have wanted to address as well. This used to be a feature, but it was removed. There might be some economic feedback issues here, a network of bots could move steem around to upvote the same post over and over. Not sure if this would actually add to the existing bot problem or not, existing ways to game the system are probably more efficient.
You are right though, the incentives on this platform are misaligned towards posts that are more quickly and easily digested.
