The SILENT 2 Electro is the first self-launching sailplane incorporating the Front Electric Self-Launcher/Sustainer (FES) in serial production since years. The aircraft is capable of both unassisted take-off and periods of powered flight – as may be necessary to sustain soaring flight.

Hunter's Comments

  • It's 22kw brushless electric motor installed in it's nose is powered by Li-ion batteries and is capable of periods of powered flight, as necessary for a saring flight.
  • Equipped with a foldable propeller to make the flight aerodynamically clean.
  • Capable of launching from multiple type of runways.

    I wouldn't say it is fully ecofriendly, it would have if it had been a solar powered sailplane

      This is a great entry level plane that offers electric power. It would be nice to be able to fly this to my cottage and save me a lot of time :)
